How many of you use your Stang as a daily driver?

Daily driver for the last 2 years, and my only car.

The only thing that really ticks me off besides gas millage is the lack of respect others have for my car in the parking lot. My car has only been painted for a year but bastards in the parking lot seem to enjoy giving me new door dings :cautious:. People do not respect sh**.

mine used to be an everyday driver up to about 2 years ago. i drove mine to school for 2 yeas and work for 5 years before i finally got a daily driver with A/C and cruise control. now i drive it to work 2 days a week, weekends....oh...don't forget the races! :D

sometimes i get home from work and have to drive it. if i don't,i feel like a loser.

just kidding about the loser part :rlaugh:

Mine use to be my daily driver, then she went into the body shop to get stripped. It sucks going from a stang like mine to a 92 honda accord.......but hey, it gets A LOT better mpg. :D Once I get her back I think I'm only going to drive her on weekends and maybe fridays. 8-9 mpg with gas prices the way they are doesn't work out. :notnice:

i have a stang for everyday of the work week, looking to get a vintage car though, right now im hunting, and i mean HUNTING down a 69 or 70 boss 429 for those fridays were you just cant take it anymore!

I've driven my '66 daily since I got it back in '00, rain or snow, although we rarely get snow. Now that I have the '01, it gets driven in the snow.

I don't have to complain about gas mileage. Both of my cars get around 20 mpg. So I'm good.

thats another thing about stangs, they are built right, i mean none of mine ever left me stranded, they are quality cars

Plus, you can fix just about anything on them with a phillips screwdriver, a 1/2 open end/box end wrench and a pair of pliers. Gimme springs and vaccuum lines over computers anyday when it comes to my car. When it acts up, at least I know where to start!

Case in point, the wife's diesel Jetta left us stranded for 2.5 hours in North Lousiana at her sisters. It would turn, but not catch. I had no idea where to start looking. It finally fired and we zoomed 5 hours home without turning it off. It got us home and died in the driveway! Turns out that the water separator had a crack in it which would vent the line and not let diesel get to the cylinders.

I hate looking stupid, but there were four of us, standing there with the hood open, not having the foggiest idea where to start! With the mustang, we'd have been able to at least do something! (At the very least, go back inside in the AC and drink a beer!)

Still, in its defense, this is the first time the VW hasn't played ball in 68,000 miles. (And it gets 51 MPG on the highway.)

Still, love my Mustang and its 14mpg. Oh well. . . .
