Assuming you know how to drive a stick, then yes. It's very easy, just have to get used to the power. A 99/01 will be easier to get used to than the 03/04 but the 99/01 is still a lot of car to get used to. trust me :nonono:

Like its been said, if you're familiar with a stick, then its no big deal, especially on a 96-01 Cobra. If you're concerned, I'd definitely aim for a 99 or 01 just because of the traction control, but even its hardly not even needed unless you're on wet pavement. On dry pavement, a stock 96-01 Cobra is not really a car that will scare you unless you start pushing it hard. Personally, I've gone back and forth from automatics to 5 speed manuals and if you know how to basically work a clutch and shift properly, you'll be loving every minute of it.
As already mentioned, make sure you check with your insurance agent and if they are too high, shop around. Cobras will tend to be more expensive, but don't judge one companies rates as an industry standard. Another thing is to consider that you will be burning premium unleaded gasoline with a Cobra. If you're used to pumping in 87 regular, then you will be paying 20 cent or more per gallon over what you're used to. Cobras are fun to own and drive and more exclusive, but are a tad more expensive to operate.

nice pic....I went from a 215hp sedan to a 320+hp '01 cobra as my daily driver. power was easy to get used to. some say the clutch is heavy but I personally find it much easier to drive vs. a light/rubbery assembly that gives less feedback. I am enjoying it as my daily driver so far. only 1K miles and counting.

I own a '98 COBRA and a '03 COBRA. If you are concerned about the power difference go with a 96-01 COBRA. '03's and '04's are a different ballgame. The insurance is a tad bit higher on the newer snakes due to the super charger, but oh so worth it!!!

I went from a '01 to a '04. Powerwise of course goes to the '04, but the '01 didn't feel slow by any means. I loved that car & figured I always have it, but the right car & right deal came along & well...........

You should be very happy with a '01 Cobra, it is what I'd recommend if a '03/'04 is more than you want at this time.

Hmmmm, the guy at the dealership told me the complete opposite. I'm not sure if he just said that so I would buy the '03. Thanks though, I will look into that.
