I want to beat LT1's

Today I was minding my own business when out of no where I see a team named Offline crusing in front of me. There was two LT1 Camaros, 68 Camaro, 73 Camaro, and three 70 Chevelle's. Awesome car's. Well this green Camaro always revvs it and ***** whenever im next to him. I've raced him and he kicked my ass. Today he was revving the engine again but nah I was gonna get spanked.

I own a 96 GT. I was thinking about putting a new 99+ 4.6 in my car. How much would the whole engine cost? How much to get it installed? I was thinking of putting headers to the new engine if I get it. Is it too much of a pain in the ass and not worth it?

Make me smoke LT1's!

are you talking about the new gen lt1s or the old carbed lt1s and as for the motor swap why not just do the pi intake,head,swap plus you will get more horsepower thanks to the raised compression ratio then you can go from there with your bolt on,s
 
Well, i jsut want to let you know where you stand as of now. THe 96 GTs were the slowest of any v8 mustang. They are turds... :nonono:

What you need...
-4.10 gears
-Dr. Gas X-Pipe
-Magnaflow Magnapack/or Flowmaster American Thunder
-Full PI Swap (This includes heads, intake, cam)
-UD Pullys
-And then to seal the deal, NX Wet Nitrous Kit.

(I dont think you REALLY need the PI Heads, but they help SO much.)

The only diff between 99+ engine and yours is the PI. So jsut buy the new PI stuff and its the same basicly. If your getting a new engine, drop a 01 Cobra engine in it.
No less than 4.10 gears...
 
:fuss: well your talking s@#$ about 96-98 mustangs because you have a pi car and if you did'nt you would'nt and he was just asking about the pi swap not how fast hes car is and for you by your profile your only 16 or 17 so how did you get a 03 gt im sure your dad don't want you to tell everybody his mods on his car :rlaugh:
 
Im just making sure he knows he has alot of work to do...**** i cant even beat them.
Now ****, actually im paying for my self and im sure my dead father would be quite proud that i work nearly a full time job and go to school to pay for my car.

Dude...you freak out. Jesus christ, i wasent talking ****, because eveyrthing i said, was 100% true and im telling him what to do to beat an LT. You need to chill...

BTW, my sister has a NPI GT, and i can tell you right now (Cuz it was mine) that it is slow...and if it was my car now, aside from gears, PI woul dbe the frst thing.
 
just joking and anyways about the lti thing why can,t you beat them i have beaten a few here and there maybe it was just luck i don't know don't care really no hard feelings and where do you work to afford a 03 gt and go to school

ya no ****. hes just explaining. my mom owned a 96 and then a 97 and those were dogs.
 
If you're planning on staying n/a, you will have to do the pi swap.You will have to decide if it is worth it to make the swap depending on the condition of your current engine.Either way, gears are a step in the right direction.Good luck with whatever you decide.
 
Uhh... i dont think so buddy. Stock for stock any year gt gets killed. Now with the head swap and gears u might have a chance if the lt1 is stock. But who's stock now and days anyway. if the lt1 has gears and exhaust and lets say a cai he's running low 13's if not 12's if he can drive. I have seen plenty of lt1's in the 12's without touching the heads cam or intake. (I live in michigan, home of the dream cruise, so i've seen plenty) U are going to have to spend wisely and drive the spit out of ur car to consistantly beat a f-body. I know i'm about to get blasted with hate replies but the truth hurts.

Simple answer............ I have a 2000 GT and I have killed every LT1 car that has raced me............ My mods are Plenum, 75MM TB, InletPipe,MAF with K&N and thats it........ it's always a easy win for me

I am a Professional Editor, i edit Weddings, Commercials, Sports Highlights, Dance, and Cheerleading. I also videotape these events. On the side i work on cars, clean them and hopefully in a week or two i will be able to go to work at a Viper repaire shop to start to work on them (Only for the summer). But my boss is nice enought to know i have to pay for a car, so i get paid well, and i am quite good (but we have some sick editors that blow me away). Thats how...
