FL UNDER STATE OF EMERGENCY

Another Palm Harbor resident here (just across the bay from Tampa). Bracing for the storm. Though we are only about 2 miles from the gulf, we are in a non evac zone, so I don't really worry about flooding. But I have three large oaks that have me concerned.
This is the first good scare for a major tropical system I've seen in the 20 yrs I've lived here.

This is the Key West long range radar and the eye of the storm is just coming into view on the other side of Cuba.

Take care down there Tampa/St.Pete. We just missed the little TS Bonnie here in Panama City. I have family in St. Pete, Jax, and Orlando (which is where I'm from) and wish only the best for everyone in the area. Thanks to the front pushing through we, once again, will most likely be spared of another destructive hurricane. Been lucky since Cat 4 Opal hit us in '95. Good luck all and keep us posted!

I used to live in Palm Harbor , glad to be back in VA now , but I had to call some friends down there , Vanessa and Kelsey to tell them to stay dry , they are on an E level so they arent leaving either ..... good luck to everyone down there .....

Yep, another near miss for us. Kinda disappointing...I wanted some kind of weather excitement out of this and it has barely rained, just a little breezy. We packed our living room with all the stuff from the pool deck - a gas grill, 2 huge potted ficus trees, small (beer) frig, patio table and chairs, etc, all for nothing. We stayed up half the night last night watching the latest info, and here we are with hardly a spit of rain. boring...

well im back home now, and thank God that the storm turned, unforuntely its a no win situation since those poor souls in putna gorda, arcadia etc. were in for it.

our house is fine... it turned out to be a big head ache more then anything and hopefully the rest in the atlantic will miss us.

and whoever said your disapointed.... i would of had 16foot of storm surge in my house, PLUS another 8.5 feet of waves on top of that... people have been killed from this thing so please be respectful.... and not "disappointing"
