Shimmy at speed...

My 96 GT has picked up a bit of a shimmy at about 55-70 mph, and most pronounced at about 65-70. Got new rotors, and the wheels are balanced, and I have not curbed it or anything. Anyone have any ideas?

EDIT: Doubtful it's the driveshaft... it is felt hardest in the steering well, and a lower frequency vibe than what would be a driveshaft. I have had a warped shaft (new aluminum one that some stupid mechanic POUNDED the u-joints into) and it doesn't feel like that at all.

I am thinking maybe an a-arm bushing or something? Sound right?

I went to a shop that specializes in alignments. Even though I had my tires balanced 3 weeks ago they said they were off.

Its a machine that they put under your car while the wheel is off the ground that spins the wheel and they balance it that way. I think its more of a go by feel thing because I didnt see any computer connected to it. He was doing it by eye and touch.

Maybe you got a crappy balance job too. Have you tried putting the rear wheels on the front to see if that makes a difference?

I'd be willing to bet that the shop did a bad job balancing them, OR they didn't hammer on one of the weights well enough and it has flown off. I've seen this happen too many times. Take it to a different place and have them check the balance.
