There was an interesting article a few months ago on Modular Depot about Mass Air Flow. Keep in mind this site is really technical and most of the guys over there really know their stuff. There was a lot of discussion about transfer functions, load charts, ignition and fuel tables... Bottom line is that you shouldn't change your MAF if it's not pegged (which happens around 375 rwhp). Ford units are the most consistent and easiest to tune. Any gains you may see from an aftermarket MAF could easily be obtained from a dyno tune. The stock MAF is NOT a restriction

Hope that helps :nice:

I like my pro-m. :D Bench flow calibrated for my car with the Densecharger(90 before the maf). MAF is surely not a restriction, but I have heard a lot of people having problems with CAIs that don't include MAFs.

Get the Pro-M. :nice: Just don't expect any gains from it.

wow.

Like was said before, check out Modular Depot's article on aftermarket MAFs. The basic idea is that unless you are running a supercharger/turbocharger setup, you SHOULD NOT change out your stock MAF meter. Usually, those that put a bigger MAF on their cars experience rough idling, hesitation under WOT, etc.

i have a pro - m that has not worked for my car since day one..... sent it in to have it recalibrated, still not working. unfortunately there isn't many options out there for a blow through design like on the prochargers.... cept that SCT unit. Thats the one i'm goin for... unless pro-m can make something happen with this POS univer.

I agree with everyone else..Stock maf unless it has a power adder..Now with the SCT maf as a option.I wouldnt go near a PRO-M..Mine was shipped NEW--DOA TWICE...

THe SCT maf looks like a 90mm lightning maf but is calibrated for up to 700RWHP..If you have to buy a maf it would be the one i would get..Its made to the same specs as the stock ford ones.Which means you will have no tuning issues or drivabilty issues out of it..

This is pretty much what I have heard also. Got the stock MAF unless you have a NEED to replace it. And you will need a custom tune when you do. Many aftermarket MAFs claim HP gains. All they are doing is leaning you out.
