Is there a way to use an aftermarket head unit without having to replace the whole Mach 460 system? Most people say it can't be done without losing sound quality, but I've read on some posts that it can be done. Can anyone tell me how? Thanks

What adapter did you use? Where did you get it? Will it work on my Mach 460 in my 2001?

I have a 2000 Gt with the mach 460 so I assume its the same setup. I dont remember where I got it but I think it was Best Buy or another local stereo shop. Just ask for the adpater kit for chanign out the head unit on a 460. If you cant find it they sell it at crutchfiled.

This is close but mine didnt have the amp modulator, just clips and wires.

Most of the systems I've done for guys have just put in all new stuff, all rewired. Now, for some people, this doesn't work into their budget. I usually recommend this just because I would take aftmkt stuff over OEM.

You shouldn't have much of a problem getting a new stereo to work with it. It uses the speaker outputs of the deck to power all mach amps. The rcas can be hooked up from the new deck to amp and subs for a easy sub addition. Most good installers will have the lil adapter/connector cause mach 460 is very common. Price:25 for the adapter
