Excitement: Accord and Altima are about as exciting as your Camry, just newer. Titan isn't even the best full-size pick-up, and how exciting is a pick-up, anyways?(Excluding Lightnings, of course)

Danny, why all the imports vs. Mustang? The Accord and Altima are nice cars, but they are just "transportation", while the Titan doesn't hold a candle to the new F-150. Just a thought...

If your single and able to, buy the Mustang GT. I had mine(among others) before I got married and I still have them. Even during my most married moments, I can slip away behind the wheel of my Mustang and "be free".

I am truly sorry that your town obviously lacks a good Ford salesman who could show you how hands down the F-150 is the best truck.

You should still get the Mustang, though!

I work at a nissan dealership and drive those cars all day long! They make great cars but if you thought the titan was fun to drive then a mustang will blow you away. The 350 is a nice car but not for the money, seems like nissans have a lot of recalls also, the brakes on those titans are very small and constantly need replaced, go mustang!

The F150 is a better quality truck but the Titan is a more brutal truck. The titan has better performance all around and can tow and haul more. Not to mention its cheaper too. THey are both great truck so really no need to cut down the Titan.

The accord > altima EASY. Honda reliability with equal performance.

If you are going performance cars, I would look at a 350Z (26-30K), 05 GT (25-27K), GTO (30K), used C5, 03/04 Cobra, Mach 1, etc.

You have to decide if you want a truck, sports car, or a sedan. There is nothing wrong with any of them, but they are so different its up to what you want. If you want a sedan get a 300C.

If you were really thinkinga bout sedans, I say go with the Mazda 6. Two of my friends own them and they are VERY nice for the money.

I love my 6S hatch. BTW, the v6 Honda uses a timing belt which is something I stay away from.

Ford purposely understated the towing capacity in the specs it first released on its new 2004 F-150 hoping to con its rivals into benchmarking the low figure. Nissan did just that. Then Ford announced its "true" towing capacity of 9,900.

the titan is faster thats for sure but its honestly a pile of crap. Go read some of the Titan forums. If you want exciting you shouldnt be buying a truck. How much are you going to spend again?

Nissans always had a problem with thier trucks.

Remember the old "Hard Body" nissan released. It was supposed to be better quality han the rust buckets that came before it. I think the "Hard Body" started rusting before they arrived at the dealer.

Wow, talk about memories!! I was in the same predicament back in '89. I was either going to purchase a brand new Mustang LX or an F-150 pick-up.
I chose the F-150 and here's why.....

1. The insurance was cheaper on the truck.
2. I live in the "snow belt" and the vehicle was going to be a daily driver.
3. I planned on getting a boat sometime in the future and would need something to tow it with. (Finally got the boat 6 yrs later !!)
4. I didn't want to have trouble with my license at such an early age. I never got pulled over in the truck.

Well, those were the factors in my decision back then and to be quite honest, i made the right decision. I still have that truck and i'm finally getting my mustang probably in late '06 (waiting for a specialty model)

Good luck and try to be reasonable in your decision.

I have a question for all of the great minds out there on this stang forum. I am a recent college graduate with a good job and have finally saved up enough to afford my first car. This is where the decision comes in, I have made a list of cars and narrowed it down to four possible choices. I wish to hear other peoples' opnions on the cars left on my list. The decision comes down to a 2005 Mustang GT, Nissan Altima 3.5SE, Honda Accord V-6, or a Nissan Titan. I have decided that I can wait as long as February to make the purchase. My current car is reliable, but possess all the exictment of plain oatmeal. I want something more exciting, being young and single now seems to be the perfect time for a vehicle with some excitment.

I'll offer up something different. Don't buy any new car. Recent college grad, probably making good money, why tie yourself down with car payments so soon. Save your money, invest your money. You say your current car is reliable, why not roll with that car for another 2 or 3 years.

I see new college grads come and go. The job turns sour on them and they quit, downsized (last in first out), or fired. The last thing you want is a car payment and no job.

PLus at your age, you will probably tire of the new car way before you finish paying it off. Your 05 (gt,altima,titan) will be upgraded by 08.


With that said, if you are in the market for an 25k-30k vehicle, why not look for a recent used model. Let someone else take the off the lot depreciation hit. I'm seeing 03-04 vettes with less than 10,000 miles going for 30k. Likewise, brand new 04 stangs are going for 20k and under. ( i bought an 04 stang in Jan 2004 for 24k, now I'm about to buy a 04 vette for around 32k.)

If you have to buy the newest and latest model, get the 05 gt. The only other one I would consider is the Accord (only because it holds it's value).

To answer your question on the vehicle you should purchase, I believe that you know as well as anyone that we can't make that decision for you. We don't know what you have planned in your life, or what uses you have for a vehicle. Obviously we are going to tell you to get the mustang and become one of the many proud stang owners. On the other hand, you need to look at the practicality of the purchase.

If your life in the near future is going to call for the use of a truck for towing or carrying furniture, hunting or any of the other many uses for a truck, then I would say buy a truck. Not necessarily a Titan though. My engineer has one and personally you'd get more for your money buying an F-150. Thats just opinion though.

However, as far as the Altima is concerned, personally I wouldn't waste my money.

As far as reliability goes, the Accord is a very well built vehicle and has many advantages for a young person. Fuel economy for starters. Mustang GTs do burn a healthy amount of fuel in comparison. Insurance is another option you should look at considering a responsible adult would make sure that his/her vehicle is fully covered along with those that ride with him/her or those that may be in an accident with that individual.

Please don't misunderstand me. I have had my mustang for five years and have 190k miles on her without a lick of trouble from her. I love my car very much and wouldn't trade her in even if I did find myself in another relationship, or with kids to haul around. What I'm trying to say is that you need to be practical. If you want a toy to enjoy and to play with then a Mustang is the best toy I can think of having, but, you have to decide what is best for your life at the given moment...

I know Hyundai's and Kia's suck, but they were rated this year to be THEY most reliable car on the planet. This based off of warrenty claims and maintance. But I'd still buy a Mustang.

Tha's because they're like disposable cameras. When they break, you don't take them to a shop, you just throw them away.
