i got a new SPEC stg 2 clutch w/ UPR cable, firewall adj, and triple hook quad. when i got the car back from the shop, the clutch pedal was significantly higher than it was stock. i thought the pedal was supposed to get lower  also, it catches extremely high-the pedal is almost all the way out. how do i adjust the pedal height and where the clutch catches? thanks for the help

I dont know anything about your triple hook. It sounds like they set your firewall adjuter out too much. A good starting point is about 1/4 inch out. To lower the release point, turn the adjuster clockwise or in (towards the firewall) but be careful not to turn it too much or your cable will be loose and may pop out. If the release gets too low back it off. It took me a couple tries to get it where I liked it. I had the opposite prob with mine, you had to stand on the pedal to put it in gear. My pedal sits high also with the spec 2, Maximum Motorsports has a kit to lower it but I haven't tried it yet. Also, remember to take it easy on that clutch for a few hundred miles, I waited over 400 before I beat it up and it still chatters.

what actuslly turns on the adjuster? i tried turning the the outer "disc" but its attached to the cable and it just snaps right back when i let go. and how do i adjust the pedal height? the top of my foot hits the fuse box when i go to press in the clutch :bs:

The clutch setup in these cars suck. i have a spec stage 1 with fidanza aluminum flywheel. I've got a BBK adjustable clutch cable and quadrant. I hate how the clutch pedal is so far up and you have abotu an inch between when it starts to grab and when its ful engaged. I hate it. Help me get it fixed :( i still grind gears like a mofo. I have a pro50

Had the exact same issue with my wife's 01 after installing a KC clutch, and the whole Steeda setup. The solution? - Spend $20 on Maximum Motorsport's clutch pedal adjuster. It works perfectly!!!

Its the Did you loosen the set screw on the adjuster? Did you looser the jam nut? It might help pulling back on the cable when you turn the adjuster. About the pedal height, the only thing I know of is the MM kit that will lower it. Hope that helps.

First off you have to make sure the Clutch cable is hooked onto the right spot on the quadrant. Look under your hood, if the firewall adjuster is turned all the way in like its flush with the firewall and the clutch is catching that high, it was installed wrong, with that setup your clutch is never full disengaged also so get that looked at.

If it was installed correctly all you have to do is turn the firewall adjuster left to make it longer and turn it in to make it shorter.

i loosened the lock "disc" that sits against the firewall, but the cable still turns as i turn the adjuster, making it just snap back to where it was. i dont really want to man-handle it for fear i might cause some sort of damage. i got in contact with the guy who installed it and he said he would fix it for me :nice: thanks for all the help guys.
