Please rate these mustang parts dealers...

Tony Branda[/B]-Never heard of them?

.

I like Branda because he has been around since the early 1970's. He used to go to all the major car shows & display his stuff or to deliver parts. He is also the only guy to make an effort to sell Shelby specific 'glass and parts. If there are multiple manufacturers making the same stuff, he usually goes with the better quality company over price. That's important to me (& should be to all of us).

Mustang Depot - I got a brake MC & booster kit from them. I thought they were pretty good overall.

Mustangs Plus - I got a couple Items from them also. I like the way they make kits and a lot of times you can substitute items. I thought the prices were a little high for the Quality, but good selection and service. I'll likely buy some suspension components from them.

Mustangs Unlimited - I bought over $2K worth of stuff from them. Great selection and Good Prices. I had a couple boxes arrive opened, but everthing was there. Some items like Window moulding - the quality and fit wasn't very good. Other wise I'd still shop there again.

Where did all the Dealers go?

I went to the Englishtown swap meet this weekend & there were only 2 Mustang dealers there (Jersey Shore Mustang and CJ Pony). Most of the sites were very small with people selling the stuff out of their basements (carbs & distributers).. I have carbs & distributors in my basement too, but they were the old junk that I'm keeping around for spare parts.. or sites selling cheap Chinese tools. What a shame, things have sure changed. The big dealers used to go to all of these shows to keep their names out there & I actually used to find some rare stuff. I guess ebay has changed everything.

After ordering from several companies I ALWAYS try to use National Parts Depot(NPD) first. They have been great with every order I have made, ever orders with a large number of items(20). I will never order from Year one again, ass hats screwed me on a radio.

Cool thanks man. I'll have to check them out, are they on the web? And I suppose since they carry the best parts their prices will be a little high which is ok if the parts are quality.

Mustang Depot

Well I didnt really have anything to put in this thread until today.

Mustang Depot....

I ordered a B&M AOD tranny from them a month ago. I send an email from the web page asking about it, wondering if it has shipped or not. no reply. I call friday morning and the lady on the phone says she cant check right now because the computer froze. She asks if I would like her to call me back once she finds out. I explain that I am in Afghanistan and she cant call but an email would work. So she says she will email me. Right after that, I place an order over the phone for $4,000 more stuff. I wait until after lunch on monday and still no email. I call and talk to the same lady. She tells me to hold on she will go check on the transmission. She comes back and tells me that it is packaged up and they cant get UPS or fed-ex to pick it up, so they are working on getting another company to pick it up. I tell her to cancel the transmission and refund my money, she says she cant because it is a special order item. So i ask about the other parts I ordered, and she says she didnt have time to get it done on friday, but she was gonna get it done today. I told her not to worry about placing that order just cancel it.

I know $6,000 to some isnt a lot of money, but for me spending $6,000 in less than two months with the same company is quite a bit. And to think that she didnt have the time to get around to it yet just seems pretty sad to me. Maybe they get a lot of orders where people spend more than that, so i was at the bottom of the list.

So now I am looking for another company to let have my money.

Exactly the reason I try to buy in person. I realize your dilemma and how you are limited. Last Xmas I tried to get my son a gift from California Mustang but the item wasn't available from their supplier, so waited patiently as I ordered in November for Xmas delivery, well, you guessed it, nothing with a week before Xmas. The counter guy who answers the phone tried to help me EVERYTIME I called for a credit to my charge card but seems the billing department in the back room just didn't give a darn. After repeated calls, he finally had to get a manager in the billing department to handle it. This is really ridiculous, so haven't shopped there for awhile now. I tend to remember places that give me crappy service.

I'm not going to rate them, but here is my experience:

1.Mustangs Plus – OK customer service, but not all of their counter personnel are the most knowledgable. Overall, they do an ok job. But they are local for me.

2. CJ Pony Parts – never ordered from them.

3. National Parts Depot – Again, not the most knowledgable on mustang parts, but good service otherwise.

4. Tony Branda – Never ordered from them.

5. Mustangs unlimited – Never ordered from them.

6. American Pony - Never ordered from them.

7. Mustang Depot – Never ordered from them.

8. Cal-Mustang - Poor quality parts and poor service. :notnice: Poor packaging of parts as well! I ordered a repro radiator support from them. It was bent in half practically. Of course, it was UPS fault. Still, there was nothing in the box but 2 pieces of paper to protect the radiator support from the UPS delivery guy.

9. Superior Mustang Parts – Never ordered from them.

Johns Mustang- John called me himself to give some recommendations on an order I placed once. Excellent Service.

Dallas Mustang- They responded to emails pretty quickly and got a good deal on some global west suspension parts from em.

The Mustang Ranch of Fresno- :notnice: Went in to buy a rebuild kit for the hydraulic control valve so that cousin dave could rebuild his control valve. One of the Dougs stated "you will screw it up, we can do it for $250". Told him "No thanks, I am just looking for the kit". After two more times, of the "you will screw it up, we can do it for $250", my friend and I began to walk out. As we are walking out, he offers the kit for $120. These kits run for like $45 - $60 at most maybe. Haven't gone back there since!

I noticed nobody mentioned the Paddock. Personnally I hate them--but wasn't sure if others do too.

I like NPD, Laurel Mountain, Mustangs Unlimited, and when I am in a real pinch and need it right now--Mustang Country. NPD I can drive too if I have a business meeting or something up that direction and Mustang Country is 40 minutes or so from my house. Otherwise--UPS delivers....

I figured I'd give my $.02. I get about 95% of my stuff from Sacramento Mustang, they've usually got the stuff I need and at a reasonable price. I've used NPD and they've got good customer service and get it out quickly. Cal Mustang's not too bad either. I also like Summit a lot, I've never had a problem with them.

Englishtown is nothing but hicks drinking beer in the sun all day ... what a mix.

Yeah, I saw that.. but at least I could stay happy buying $2.00 beers from them as I was walking around. But there were so many rednecks there that I thought I was back living in Georgia again instead of New Jersey!

I HATE Cal Mustang for one reason. If any of you guys have the newest catalog, you will see the cover is a FB with white stripes.Well thats my car that was used without my permission for their marketing purposes and then they have the balls to say they didnt, short story, going through litigation now :notnice:

my 2cents

I have used all the above mentioned and have had favorabe results. The most favorable has been CJ's just because of price and customer service. Superior Mustang Parts here in CO had been disappointing {as the rest of the local dealers.} I am still in need of a lot of parts for my 67. I had asked Superior about their fenders and to see if they had the new Ford Tooling fenders my 67. $211.00 is what I was quoted. I did not believe them so I called back ( to save a trip from Denver) and everytime I call they give me a different price and the response that they will be in 4-6 weeks.
