if you need them....here they are

I've been toying with the idea of fabricating replacement mounts for quite a while now, just haven't gotten around to doing it. Now there's a guy on mustangii.net who says he is working on something. I think it's just a matter of time before these get reproduced.

How about fabricating replacement frame mounts that use a readily available motor mount? I've been thinking about making some that mate to 67-68 mustang mounts, or something else that is readily available. I wonder if the Fox mounts would be easier or less expensive?

That was my thought, But fabricating them for others??

Not hardly. Every dick lick out there would want a guaranteed fit for every SBF engine/ trans/ hedder combo .... and then bust nuts when the only guarantee given would be they worked with X mount as a factory replacement ....

No Thank You.

Very true!

...and so eloquently put I might add :rlaugh:

Unfortunately Phil's pricing is not out of line. We have to remember that these cars are now 30 years old. This NOS stuff is getting harder and harder to find, and the prices are going up accordingly.

I have a source to purchase 5 sets of NOS L&R V8 mounts from. I called this morning to see what they cost; I thought maybe I'd buy them up and offer them to fellow members here for my cost. Well, my cost was only a few dollars less than Phil's Buy It Now price.

The prices are going to keep going up. We own 30 year old cars, that just aren't that popular. Parts manufacturers aren't going to make stuff for us. In order for parts to be worth making, you need to make them in mass quantity to justify the costs of tooling and manufacturing. A hundred or so MII enthusiasts looking for motor mounts, who also don't want to pay a lot of money for them, is not going to be of any importance to an aftermarket manufacturer.

Come on you can tell us what car are they "REALLY" off of? I don't know about any of the other guys in here, but my stock mounts, or the set I got from a local dealer a few years ago before thier stock ran out did NOT have or "need " a spacer like your ad says  ...

You will need to add a spacer, just like the stock mounts have where the long bolt goes, to complete the installation for your application....

Sheesh!

You guys are all about busting my nuts when I have something for sale! I 've been collecting parts, contacts, information, and resources for the last 3 years and everytime I show you all something you haven't seen before....it must not exist or be real! I know people all over the country that deal with MII cars and parts and are very hardcore about it.....not, obviously, as gung-ho as you guys are....but they know alot about II's and anytime I've come across something new...or of interest, I've talked to them about it. I have sold over 30 sets of these, and a crapload of just the left side and not a SINGLE person has been upset with the product. I posted that link to help you people out, not to hang myself out there for your critique. :notnice: I am in the Navy.... :flag: 3 years now...and I came across a company, accidentally, that just started selling MII V8 mounts. They are a VERY reputable company and have been selling engine components for several years. These mounts match up PERFECTLY to my stock V8 mounts. The spacer I was referring to is not really a spacer, but that was the closest way I could describe it at the time. It actually looks like somewhat of a tab that's welded inside portion of the bracket on the mounts where the long bolt goes...you can tell it's factory, but it seems to act like a spacer. I'm not EVER trying to scam anyone....I'm not sure if you've had some bad deals or what, but, lighten up on the new guy....just trying to supplement the pittance the government calls my income. I am completely selling out of my project, and all the parts and information I've collected. I've realized that being a human being again in the credit world is MUCH more important than running like a raped ape down a dragstrip.

Bobby, you come off as a pretty odd fellow here on this forum, and I think that doesn't sit well with most of these folks. You've got what appears to be a magic bean, and people just want information before shelling out the dough. I can understand you don't want to give out too much info on your source, that's perfectly understandable.

I would suggest that you might want to do a little PR here on the forum, to ease people's minds. The best thing you can do is get a set of these mounts on a respected members car, here on the forums. Why don't you send a set at no charge to the member of your choice, and then have them make a post with the fit and installation of the mounts? This way the rest of the people who are weary about buying them from you will have an honest word from someone they feel comfortable with. I'd suggest someone like Cobraman, parthos, Vincent, ect. Someone who currently drives their car, and is still 302 powered.

Come to think of it, I would be happy to install a set in my brothers pro-street II. He's got the factory setup, and has headers. I would be willing to take pictures of the install, and post them here. What do you think?

That should make those mounts fly out the door for you. Hope this helps.

Bobby,
In all honesty I haven't tried the mount that you list. Maybe it does work. In the past, *I've* given you a hard time because I have bought parts from people on e-bay before that didn't work as advertised. The Mustang II community has to look out for each other because we don't have any bigtime vendors who care about us. Also e-bay auctions give us something to talk about. My apologies if I've offended you in the past, I'm just simply throwing my opinions/experiences out there.

I've E-Bayed someone here something, a well known member, and I'm not sure he knows it was me.

I have too much class to whore the forum for personal gain.
