I'm wondering what kind of power adding an offroad H or X pipe and headers would do to my stock '00 S281SC would do. I'm considering a smaller pulley, but I've heard that you need to change the fuel system and maybe computer if you mess with the blower. Is that true?
Stock should produce 350hp, but I would like to be in the 400+ range for when a Corvette pulls up next to me.
Any suggestions that would keep it appearing stock??? Thanks

get yourself an o/r pipe, LT's, a chicane RIPP kit, and a chicane pulley....after you put them on, get a tune from someone who know's what they're doing and you won't have any problems. that's the setup i used to have...the blower will scream and you'll make decent power. no need to mess with the fuel system in my experience.

I went with the Chicane kit and stock everything else and promptly blew my motor with the stock/Saleen tune. So to answer your question (s) 400 HP is not easily attained with the Series II Supercharger, if possible at all. You for sure need a smaller pulley to increase the boost, and with that comes the need for "other" stuff. Namely a new tune, perhaps a new fuel pump. Depending on where your at the best I have heard of is the SCT Tune (MPH Tunes using this one, Midwest??) and Joe at Chicane knows his stuff also. (California)
.

never waste time with those longtubes my 03 kp cobra does not have them and we make 641hp and we took the cats off lost power. I run stock manifolds and exhaust on the 00 gt with s4 blower and that runs 11.9 at 114. Stick to basics like fuel pump injectors and throttle body and mass air meter from a lightning. and get a tune. To prove long tube header gains put them on and line it up on my car and you will lose plain and simple. If your near pa [email protected] if you want a tune.

I have to agree with saleens4 about the long tubes with roots/whipple blowers. They seem to help very little over standard shorties or even the stock manifolds. But about a year ago i watched 2 identical bullits with vortechs dyno, the only exception being one had long tubes and the other didnt. The one with long tubes dynoed 31 rwhp more. As to why the headers have such different outcomes, probably deas with the powerbands of the diff blowers.

Besides that with my 99 i had tb, basic cold air, with chicane pulley, x pipe and no tune. Car ran fine for several years till i blew the blower gasket, after that i swapped back to the original pulley. So do what everyone else said. Get the tune and the pump, it will save you from troubles down the road.

Steigmier Ported Blower/ Plenum
Chicane Blower Pulley
Accufab 75mm Throttle Body
Lightning 90 mm MAf
42# injectors
SVT focus fuel pump
Chicane Cold air intake
Off road x or h pipe
Catback
Long tube headers (i gained 17 hp)
Superchips custom tune
3:73 gears
And a set of drag radials

And youll be ready to go...!

I thought the SC Saleens already had bigger fuel pumps and injectors... Obviously not big enough!
Any idea how much an offroad X pipe would improve it with a cold air kit?
I'd like to keep the engine bay looking stock from the outside if possible.

What hp range is the SVT focus pump good for? Or would the better question be how much fuel is that moving? My car is running an lincoln aviator pump (this from Joe at XMP), anybody know what those are good for?

The focus pump is less supporting than the Aviator pump. There is the 03 cobra tank / pumps. Randy Stitchcomb was selling them on special for around $720 shipped on the ModularDepot forums. You can also check the classifieds for a better deal.

Whatever it is- I would be careful about XMP...

I took my car to XMP for a fuel system and it took them 8 months to finish it....

not to mention I caught the owner driving my car around for his own personal use....and he returned it to me with a fresh door duing in it...

now he is demanding full payment, even though the work is not finished and even told me that he cant make payroll unless I pay him so I should give him more money even though the cars not finished

and how much did he come up with for full payment...only $4300 for a damn fuel system

just slightly above my signed estimate of $2500....he now told me that if I dont pay the bill hell take me to court and put a lien on my car....

so be careful about XMP
