door speaker

Done this alot myself.

1. Open the door obviously

2. Remove the pop 'em bolt on the bottom front corner
Door2.jpg

3. There is a small tab above the switch bezel press down on it (not much force required) with either your fingers (recommended) or a flathead screwdriver and pry outward then pull up on the whole thing and it will pop off.

4. Take the two screws off the swirch bezel on the underside

5. Then these two on the door.

6. Then get a grip on the door and pull up and out (watch for the door handle)

Re-installation is reverse with a few things.....

the door has a lot of hooks on the back make sure they all go to their proper holes and work with the door unlocked so you can put the lock pin in the little hole in the top of the door.

NOTE: Photobucket still uploading, pics coming soon.
NOTE2:The factory 5x7 speaker can be replaced with an aftermarket 6x8, it will fit.

I agree with everyone else, THANK YOU. I myself have been wondering how to do this for quite awhile. The pics truly make it seem easy. We should have a little "how to" forum as well as the tech and talk forums to add these little gems to.

Nice write up Andy. I think you should add this to the sound forum, so it could help others.

Thank you all and You're Welcome.

Zinc. Copied to sound forums, I also did one for the rear cause while I was there I saw someone had started a thread asking about the rear.

Sorry no. I'm not that much of a gear head (yet) I can really help with visual, sound. But only SUPER BASIC engine stuff.
