I jsut got my Ford racing hood pins kit in yesterday. I was going to try installing it tomarrow. I think you drill into the radiator support to mount the pins, the kit came with no instructions. Anyone know of any stickies for installing the Hood retaining pins?

i also want to know how to do this. i have a fiberglass replica of the saleen heat extractor hood and i desperatly want to get some pins to finish it off. the thing would look so sweet im just not sure about placement.
im also scared about running an aftermarket hood only held down by the stock latch. ive seen some funny/scarry videos of hoods popping off at high speed and i dont want that to happen to me.
someone please enlighten us,

I have a fiberglass hood, my seems pretty secure with the stock latch, I don't know about aftermarket hoods releasing on road though. The main reason why I'm doing this is becuase with the stock latch, the hood doesn't sit right. One side is even and the other is not.

I took the little stops out, and then made those holes slightly bigger to fit the rod part in there. ONce thats bolted down, take some toothpaste and put it on the tip of each rod. Then slowly close your hood until it makes contact. Then take a small drill bit and drill a hole there. Then make a larger hole until the rod fits through that part of the hood. The hole can be quite a bit bigger the the rod because the stainless steel things will cover them. ONce you get through the bottom of the hood do the same thing with the toothpaste and the small drill bit. Thing is, once you take those stops out, the hood wont be adjusted in there right, I have yet to make a system that allows the stops and the hood pins to work.

Keven, I'm not sure I follow ...... but, can you not just get a thin nut & put it on the rod? Then move it up or down to adjust the hood?
