Good guess for a 5.0L, but he's got an '00 GT. There's no EGR spacer to leak by on a 4.6L.....nor is their coolant gong to that particular area of the intake system.deftsound said:not to go against the grain here, but there is a possibility that its comin from the coolant line that goes into the throttle body. On my old fox, i had a problem where water would visibly spit water out the exhaust pipes, come to find out the throttle body gasket wasent seated right and coolant was getting into the intake.
The '00 GT's were bad for having the coolant crossover in the lower intake cracking. (The section where your thermostat goes) but when they go, they don't pump water into your engine, it kinda just makes a mess of your engine bay. And your buddy is right; head gasket problems with a modular engine are nearly non-existent. Intake gaskets almost never go either. They're plastic with a silicone O-ring style bead around each port. If they went, you'd have a puddle in the engine galley below the manifold. How is it....dry as a bone?IXRperformance said:I was told by a performance dude that the head gaskets on these cars almost never go. Do you think it could be an intake gasket? I am not really sure where the water runs in the block so its hard to tell where and if its leaking. Anyone have a schematic (diagram)of the 00 gt motor?
