This has been a long problem the past 4 months now, but I am having problems with my car wanting to shut off when I move or when I am at a stop for decent amount of time, my voltage is all over the place on the gauge my battery is brand new my alternater is a year old, I have msd and underdrive pulleys in the car I thouht that was problem put the stock alt pulley back on did fix it disconnected the msd didnt fix and last night I went to start the car and no power so I opened the hood played with the wire to power distribution box and every thing worked again this morning I made sure they were tight they were but I had the feeling the connections for the main power and the alternater wire were corroded at the power distribution box and reconnected everything back still had the same problem but one thing I noticed the stud on the power distribution box was loose, I was wondering if I can change the stud on the box I think that might fix the problem, has anyone else did this before?

it was kinda obvious for mine, whenever i would go above 3K RPM volts spiked to 18v... first time it happen was at night as i was getting on the highway, lights got VERY bright and i didnt know wtf happen. after about 3 times (voltage would only stay high for 2-3 seconds then drop to normal as long as i let the revs drop)

brought it back to pepboys with my recipt, walked back out with a new alt :nice:
