I have VT NA Stage 1 cams now and I'd like to know if I can nump the rev limiter higher since the cams still make power even past 6000rpm. So what safe rpm should I set it?

I checked my Diablosport Predator, my current rev limiter is at 6050rpm so at the stock rpm.

Anyones with cams can answer my question?

Tim has mine @ 6500RPMs...iv hit it several times haha. You NEED it to be about that as the best shift point is around 6200RPMs. Just dont make a habbit of bouncing off the limiter and it will be fine....oh and check your oil often when you shift past 6K.

have you verified how much power you are making and where it rolls off? without seening the power curve it is hard to say. your cams raise you rpm band but the stock intake may choke you back a hair.

I know on my car I would hit the limiter in first very easy stock. even worse when the gears went in. I am not making much power up there though so what is the point of reving it hard.

the only reason to rev your car higher is if you making power there IMO.

my .02 would be raise the limiter to 6300 or so and then run it on a dyno. look at the curver and adjust from there. that way you get used to shifting where you get optimum et which is usually not reved all the way to max rpm.

if you don't want to spend money on the dyno I would have not problem raising it to 6300 or so. I know with the stock intake and stage one cams you don't need anymore rpm that that.
