haha...

I started with the bare minimum....

As you know, Mustangs aren't all that rare, so all you can do to differentiate yourself with one is add little unique touches.

Anyhow, this is a GT Automatic and this model year car is a retromobile so I figured a little throwback sounded like a pretty good idea.

So I sourced a GTA badge, which was placed on the original 1967 GT Automatics. This is a reproduction (Scott Drake), but high quality. It looks like the original in every way and it's solid metal.

On to the pics....I placed it in the same (or as close as I could figure) location as the '67-'68 Mustangs had a Mustang badge which is the far right corner of the dash.

It's a little big, but everything in the interior seems large so I think it matches....

Anyhow, let me know what you think......

In my '68 I remember it saying "Mustang" in the right corner.

I thought it did in my '65 too but that was a long time ago....

Or maybe I'm thinking of my '72 Mach or my '77 Cobra II.....

Dammit, I know ONE of those cars had a Mustang badge there! lol....

And the GTA badge is on the fender on that car, not on the interior....I never said the GTA badge was in the interior.....I just put this one in the interior instead of on the outside, which was another idea I had originally, but I thought the interior would be a better place....

Very nice touch Osiris. I like the look of it on the dash. I do however see where you missed the pass. side of the center console with your armor all wipe down...just thought I'd help ya bro.

Found pics of the '67 GTA. I am tinkering with the idea now of side stripes with this badge in it's correct location...Thanks for sparking the idea Osiris!!!

Graphic-Express has these in may different colors...I would go with the white for my car

Yep, the fenders were my first thought, but I opted for a minor interior dress up instead. I know hardcore 'Stangers would get it, but I fear I'd have to always be explaining it to everyone else.

Actually, I have yet to clean the interior of the car since I got it, kooldawg, but thanks for pointing out a trouble spot for me! haha

Here is my thought for the GT A badge with the rocker panel stripes...hmm, now to find a decent badge to replace the factory GT badge...I deleted it from this pic since it's repetative along with GT A

I think it looks great without the upper badge.

Just the GTA with the stripes looks great.

Since my car is black with red interior, I was thinking stripes wouldn't look good, but now I'm thinking redfire stripes with the side emblems would be pretty nice.

I guess I'll have to have 3 GTA badges then, lol.....

Had Ford not put little holes in the fender to attach the badges I would definitely leave it of, but since they are there it's easier and cheaper for now to put different ones there($20 for both sides). When I get my stripes painted i will have that redone as well.

I think I'd be inclined to go with the galloping pony emblem to cover the fender holes as it would add even more to the retro look.

Agreed. I liked the first pic w/ no upper emblem, but see the dilemna with the holes. The more traditional tri bar pony would be the next best option imo. Too many emblems starts to look tacky, much like the the sticker/decal craze seen in the import community.

I agree about the emblem clutter. So I will use the 4.6 badges for a bit until I get the money saved up to paint the racing stripes on her then get the fender holes filled in at the same time. Thanks for the ideas and the constructive criticism fellow Stangers!!!

Well my 4.6 badges and stripes are here, but the GT A badges are on backorder(2-6 weeks is the window I was given...). Oh how it is torturing me now that I don't have all the pieces of the puzzle!!!!! I want to go out and put the stripes on and cut out the spot where GT A goes, but that would look unfinished with a gap on the fenders... i will however put the 4.6's on her tomorrow.
