What kind of performance heads do I have?

The guy I bought it from a year ago said they were Cobra heads. So I always figured they were heads off of a 93-95 Cobra. I wanted to change the spark plugs so I bought a set of plugs that fit a 93-95 Cobra head. And stupid me, I bought the plugs before I took the old ones out so I didn't bring an old one to compare.

Anyway, the old plugs that were in there have a different thread pattern than any of the Cobra plugs I checked out. The old plugs I took out are strange in that there is about a quarter of an inch area around the plug before the thread starts...whereas all the Cobra plugs had thread running to the end of the plug...So when I tried to screw in the Cobra plugs, they would not start because they weren't long enough because they didn't have the extra quarter inch length needed.

Any ideas? One of my Valve covers is chrome and says Ford Motorsport...the other valve cover is stock I believe...For whatever reason. The guy I bought it from did say it blew a head gasket and it was fixed so I'm wondering if it had something to do with that...

*I don't have a camera right now unfortunately...*

And I know they aren't stock heads because I checked out the regular old 5.0 plugs too...

DUH... try a magnet. Iron heads are attracted to a magnet. Aluminum heads aren't.

GT 40 heads have 3 bars cast into the front and rear areas or the heads. GT 40P’s have 4 bars cast in the same place.

they could be 86 model heads e6se is the casting number and it will be cast on the bottom of the head on the intake runner. i know these heads use the exact sparkplug you are describing, i not sure if the gt 40 or gt 40p heads use this type of plug or not, if they are 86 model heads throw them away, without alot work and time spent on these heads they are usless.

Most of the work on my engine was done back in 1991 and 1992, and since I am in the middle of redoing my motor I did some research on what heads were in my car as I knew they were aluminum.

I found that my heads are Trickflow High Ports and that they were further modified by Kuafman Motorsports. They were stamped TFS-302-351-188 on the passenger side front and "KM" on the back of both sides. I had to do alot of calling to Trickflow to figure out what they were exactly.

So unless they are stamped like that you might rule out TFS High Ports.
