Finally took the car out for the first time last week. Sounds fine at idle however, when I give it gas it has a baseball card in spokes sound. It only occurs when on the gas. It sounds like its coming from under the hood. The first area I checked was around the fan and that was clear. Any suggestions??

I had a sound like this in my 01 GT. Does it make this sound only when under acceleration or all the time....the culprit was a spun rod bearing in my car....I'm sure if it is not this, someone might be able to figure out the problem....

If it's only under acceleration than I would second the exhaust leak idea. Sounds like your headers may have a leak. When I changed my headers on my old exhaust the bolts kept backing off and I blew a couple gaskets that way, made a sort of ticking noise.

A few months back I had a weird noise like that in my 91, ended up getting worse over time and being a cracked flexplate. When it first started it was fine at idle and would only make the sound during acceleration. Then it became loud and constant.
