i had money saved and was going to order myt56 tranny tonight... it looks as if this is not going tohappen now. How muchdo you think it would cost to fix, or better yet, "upgrade" since my crankshaft is toast i might as well pay a performance shop to install a forged one. What do you guys think i should do?:bang:
Ok, so you had money saved for a T56, but decided you ididn't have enough money to fix the crank and get the tranny:shrug: Now you are shelling out 18K for a new motor? Somehow that seems a bit far fetched.

C'mon people he was joking....Unless everyone thinks he was serious when he was talking about having a 4.6 with a "custom" crankshaft good to 3000 hp (see the part where he mentions trashing said crankshaft)... Is everyone so quick to call bs on something that they completely miss the sarcasm? Anyway...that sucks about your car but everyones right...dont plame the pullies they didnt have anything to do with it. Hopefully you can get it fixed without spending all the money you had saved.

So let me get this straight, you destroyed the only bolt/thread on the balancer, and instead of replacing the damper for like 300 bucks, you bought an 18,000 dollar crate engine..... and are selling a custom crank rated to 3000hp..... 3000hp 4.6L

Where did you buy the motor and who's installing it.

That was obviously a joke, no cammer and no custom crankshaft,We did however setout and purchase a tap and used that on the crank, that combined with caned air helped clear the path of the chewed up bolt. steeda ups's are on.

The problem here is we are all 5.0 junkies and new to the modular motor. what threw us off when installation was the dam steeda timing adjuster,we forgot to put the adjuster in place to hold the bolt back so we could get the crank pulley settled... so we sat there with our torque wrench and put 120 pounds on it, needless to say that is what went wrong. this 4.6 stuff is really pissing us off... first $600.00 in labor for some guy to install the tLT headers and now this... have owned this car for three months and so far both happy and disappointed in the modular motor. Only time will tell what other roadblocks lay in the way.

this 4.6 really scares us to death to work on.. so I'm forced to ask... what about this what about that... any ways... i have a t56 with 410's i should be installing soon, shortly after that comes fluidyne radiator and electric water pump, the full forged bottom end, and then finally i will be able to install these twin 44 garrett turbos... When that time comes. ipromise pics will be available.

ps.. Timing is so dam weird on these cars 4.6, im used to the old fashioned timming light, so when we put the car back together and went for the first start.. we just put the gear for the adjuster on and we had that dam timming maxed out and kept scratching our heads when the car refused to start.

Also, I do have a timming question. right now we set it to the factory 10. what timming should it be set on on these modular motors with JLT Cai, LT headers + full exhaust, 75mm throttle body + plenum, udp's and premium 91 octain? i was thinking 13 maybee? - what do you guys think?
