What do I do?

Ok. I had some Sportlines and decided they were going to make my car too low, so I listed them in the Classifieds. Also mentioned an "or trade" deal for a Pro kit. Reached a deal with a fellow Stangnetter and sent my springs to him, as mine weren't installed yet and his were still in his car. He was to take the Pro's out and send them back to me. That was three months ago. I keep getting the "haven't had time to swap them" story, which I happen to believe. (Although, I would have a hard time going to sleep at night, knowing a deal I made like this isn't done.) I have been nothing but patient in this deal and I knew going in that I might end-up with no springs at all. My problem, of course, is my last two PM's and email to him have gotten no response. He has logged-on since the two PM's (about a week apart) were sent, so I'm sure they have been received.

Seeing that this guy is a fellow Stangnetter, I thought maybe you guys have some insight as to what can be done about this.

I would tell the guy he has 2 choices:

#1 Get me a tracking number this weekend for my springs or
#2 Get me a tracking number this weekend for his springs.

Either one will do. Out of 48 + hours, I am sure he can find the time to do one or the other. When it comes to committments I take no prisoners.

Pokageek has it right. A local stangnetter can even go over there and persuade the guy (even if just to physically pick up your springs so they will get mailed back to you).

You, via the fellow Stangnetter's assistance, might have to eat return shipping but atleast you will have your springs back. This is stupid - it takes an afternoon to swap springs. If the guy wasn't up for a quick swap, he should not have entered into the deal.

I guess next time you'd have to make a guy Paypal you 150 bucks (or whatever). Once you get his springs, you refund his cash.

Good luck.

OK OK!! If you didn't already get the email? I'm doing the swap this w/e!!! I know you've been anctious but we've discussed this in past PMs and you said you understood I was in the situation I was in?!?!? If that wasn't the case maybe we should've just exchanged phone #s to discuss it where we could understand eachother more clear? I'm not a bad guy who gives out my home location only to screw someone over! I'm a single dad who has to get someone to watch his 7 month old while he swaps out some springs!!! I'm sure you understand and are just alittle frustrated!! I clearly understand! I'm trying to sell the car and don't want your springs to go with the sale!!! If nothing gos wrong I will have them swaped out today and shipped as soon as Mon.

Hope there are no hard feelings?!?!?!?

No hard feelings. I didn't mention your name, for a reason. I wanted to keep you annonymous. I'm not the type to drag someones name through the mud to get my way.

I am patient and I do understand. But, three months is a VERY long time to wait, when the other guy is holding all the cards. Put yourself in my shoes for a minute. (I didn't post the issue on Stangnet, until communication from you ceased.)

We're cool. Just get those things up here! :D

Good work guys; I'm glad to hear it all worked out.

I've seen so many of these types of incidents (and experienced a few - though not quite like this) that I get a little jumpy when I hear about someone not being able to be reached (anyone whom knows me knows I'm a communication freak during transactions).
I tend to assume the worst (as I think many of us do). Bad call on my behalf in this instance because there was some sort of miscommunication and both parties were on the up and up. :nice:

Nice work getting the swap done Larry.
