01 gt with an s-trim pushing 15-16 lbs. Going to add on the direct port nitrous kit 100 shot on top of the vortech. Anyone have any feedback on this or someone doing this. Car has run so far (fully loaded automatic) a 10.6 at 129. Like to try some juice now.

Thought the 16lbs of boost was a dead give away of a built-up forged 2v motor. I have no experience with nitrous and wanted to see if anyone is running this combination with success. Yes I will have it retuned with a switch chip for nitrous use. This kit isn't cheap $1500+. Maybe people are running a dry kit with great success at less than 1/2 the cost.

Why go direct port? Direct port is for shots of >=150 right? To prevent puddling?

If I was you I would go with a dry shot. You already have the upgraded fuel system and bigger injectors in place.

No. It's a kit made for the 2v motors by nos. Eight individual noszles (8 nitrous lines and 8 fuel lines) one for each cylinder. Perfect shot to each cylinder. Looks very nice. Jet it for what you want 100-300hp.

Yeah I know the kit. Its a wet kit though. The kit is designed, among other things, to prevent intake fuel puddling which causes nitrous backfires. I would think since you are already are blown you have fuel upgrades. That being the case wouldnt it best to go with a dry shot? That way you significantly reduce the chance of intake backfire since you wont be spraying fuel into the intake.

Also I dont see you adding more than a 100 shot to a blown car. Half the advantage is going to be the nitrous cooling your intake temp. I have never heard of anyone adding more than 100. That being the case that direct port kit would be overkill.

^ No it doesnt use the intake manifold to deliver the fuel or the N20. It uses the injector bosses. So its the safest of all the systems.

Plenty of people using N20 + boost. One guy on modular depot just threw on like a 125 shot over his 18PSI (601RWHP) setup and ended up with like 712RWHP. Just make sure its tuned well.

Yeah thats I meant. The direct port kit avoids spraying into the intake and therefor puddling fuel. Normally that doesnt happen with shots less than 125rwhp increase so that being the case I dont see the point in using that kit unless you are spraying more than that.

Is the person you mentioned using a wet or a dry shot?

If you have the upgraded fuel system and injectors already I just dont see the point in going with a wet kit. Fuel in the intake is what usually causes the problem with nitrous so if you have the fuel system in place then it seems a dry shot would be preferrable.

This is all very interesting to me as I am planning on going centri at some point soon and perhaps using a small dry shot to keep my low end torque and cool the intake charge.

^ Dry shot I believe....and I agree. Dry is very safe if you have a sick fuel system already. Less things to worry about (IE no fuel solenoid). And if the N20 solenoid goes bad on a dry shot....no harm done. Just wont spray....but the the fuel solenoid goes bad with a wet or direct injection kit....your in trouble LOL. Atleast I think the direct port uses a fuel solenoid...could be wrong.

That's what i was wondering... if I can get the same performance at less than 1/2 the cost with a 100 shot of a dry system then why not if people think the direct port is overkill and not needed. My fuel system is more than enough. Cobra tank &pumps, 55lb inj. , K/B boost a pump set very low...almost off. More hp and torque and a great intercooler effect from nos. I also run the vortech aftercooler. My A/F ratio is 11.3 right across the board (safe tune).

As soon as I get my car back and running Im doing a 50 Dry shot right before my intercooler, Ive seen quite afew guys do this and it makes great power. The guys spraying a 50 shot are seeing close to 100 rwhp gains. I couldnt belive it but its true.

direct port or dry kit is the way to go with his power level and mods. you can use a direct port for a 100 shot, but in his case a dry kit might be better suited unless he plans to go all out and run 200-300 shot someday if he does then go direct port.

I think I'll save my $$$ and go with a dry shot. I would never use the full potential of the direct port system. Interesting about spraying it before the intercooler. Never thought of that. Thanks for all replys.

hey man why dont you just buy it here ?

they are 849.99 for the direct port, thats a lot cheaper then 1,500.00 that your finding.
