I have 01 Gt conv. and I need to roll cage it, I think it needs a 6 point (not sure)

I ran a 12.65 at test and tune and they shut me down untill I have a roll cage, or contiue running 13.99 or slower.

I searched for a kit but could not find a nhra approved one.

You can have a cage built based on spec from the NHRA rules, then you have to have the cage certified by an NHRA tech (costs money, they will come to you, or you will have to go to them). You might not need to go through the certification process if all you're doing is going to street car nights or whatnot, depends on how strict your track is.

They shouldn't be giving you any crap...roll cages/bars aren't required until you hit 11.49 .....according to the NHRA website

Not doubting you. You are probably right. I thought it was 10.99 along with a battery kill switch somewhere outside of the car. But then again these are for coupes not verts.

Try maximummotorsports.com

from what I get from the revised rules is that conv. must be equipped w/NHRA approved 6 point roll cage if the vehicle goes 13.99 or faster. It sucks but, It's only for our safety.

You're going to get a much better fitting cage than a universal fit if you have it custom made, and you'll end up spending about the same amount as if you had a shop just install a cage you buy elsewhere. Of course, prices will vary. One good thing about a custom cage is they can build it around you, so for instance if you want extra helmet/head room clearance, or if you want the front bar to tuck up higher by the top.
