I origionally had 3 k to mod my car.. Well w/ all the parts it ended up needing im now left w/ 1,500....I saw some used turbo's on ebay for less then 1,000 dollars. So far everything was just regasketed, Im not looking for much, just 7-9 psi. Later on down the road i'll change the u/l intake and get a set of heads. when the oppertunity comes my way. what you guys think, am i doing things backwards? I was thinking of fabbing everything myself. and just buying a turbo for cheaper. But i heard theirs some things i need that i cant fab.

what do i need to change before i do the install.. sorry for the long write up, just real anxious to make it turbo

IMO its going to cost more than 1500 to get a good quality turbo and all the hardware and etc to make it work. a tune is a must with a turbo car. its one of those deals that will nickel and dime you to death if you dont plan ahead and have enough cash.

ya, they are all right. BUT, i do have an ebay twin kit on my 93 and it seems to work fine. Has for quite a while. As long as u take care of the parts, you know dont beat it everytime its on, make sure the turbos are getting enough oil, and you let the turbos slow down like with a turbo timer before you turn the car off, they really do work just fine. The thing is, the more expenisive kits really are worth it, they pretty much come ready to install with instructions and they ACTUALLY FIT. That is the biggest thing if you are doing it yourself. The ebay ones you have to get the grinder out and cut this cut that, and u are running to lowes or home depot every 5 mins. I guess it depends on how good you really think you are at custom fabricating or if u just throw things and say it doesnt work and go have a cosmo =)

Sounds like your not worried about quality you just want to say you have a turbo'd Mustang. Beware if it sounds to good to be true it usually always is. Get a good quality kit so you don't have to replace it yearly.
