Howdy again, got a question about some tuning options for a mostly stock 03 gt...

I have a handheld diablo sport tuner with the "biggest" tune installed...Most HP and Torque.

There is shop located near me that does custom SCT tuning and dyno work. Would their tuning be that much better than what I have? I have just about all the bolt-ons for the car and MAC exhaust. I would just hate to go spend $300+ dollars there and gain like 3hp.

unless you have a blower or hci, which im guessing you dont, just stick with the handheld.

custom dyno tunes arent worth it unless you have serious mods like ported heads and cams or some kind FI

yeah, unless major engine mods or nitrous...its not worth it.

I tuned my car with the Diablosport and gained 6.9 RWHP and 13 lbft OVER the canned Predator tune.

All I did was take the car to the dyno, paid $50 for 3 runs and time for me to tune my car, adjusted the spark and fuel settings and whalah... a little power was made.

So... unless your air/fuel ratio is way out of whack, or the car runs bad then I would just stick with the handheld untill you have some more mods, and need to tune more than what you can with the Diablosport.

Stick with the Programmer. If you run 93 octane max out the timing and don't touch your A/F ratio with out a wideband.

I agree about the fuel part, unless you richen it up just to be safe...

But, PLEASE dont just max out the timing!!!

Increase spark advance in small increments, drive the car (do some wide open throttle runs) and make sure it does not ping. If it starts to ping back it down a degree or two and leave it.
