Battery is hooked up. Solenoid is hooked up.
Must other wires (dist-coil) be hooked up so that when I turn the key, I will get idiot lights? I initally was trying to test the voltage at the positive side of the coil. Thanks

What idiot lights? If you mean the Alternator light, It gets 12volts when the ignition is on and it gets a ground through the alternator when it is not charging.

So what voltage did you get at the coil?

Your right of course, alt light. What I mean is, when I turn the key on, I should have a red light. I have nothing. No wipers - nothing. Of course, no voltage at the coil.

You won't get wipers unless you have the main power feed to the fusebox hooked to the solinoid, and the fuse(s) in place. THis will also apply to getting power to the coil wire, which is fed from the ign switch. THere should be a large ring term in the harness coming from uner the battery tray.
Tim, do you have a simple diagram? I think the whole 65 diagram set will not be much help yet...
