my last 4cyl stang was a cold blooded bastard. I couldn't get it to warm up for nothing. including driving in stop and go traffic for 3 hours in the summer.

but that car had issues that noble prize winning scientist couldn't figure out.

2.3's are odd beasts.

My old 2.3L Mustang would always run cool (like the bottom end of the gauge), unless you got stuck in traffic in which case it would heat up quick.

My thunderbird is the same way. In cool weather, it ran way too cool with a 180 thermostat, so I switched back to a 195. It also has a 3-core '93 Cobra replica radiator and dual 12" fans on an adjustable fan controller.

It stays at 180 running down the road, and if you just let it idle it never goes much above 200. And yet, if you get stuck in slow moving traffic, it heats up bad (around 220 or so) and hardly cools off at all. It's frustrating.
