New fuel system, need advice

Hey all, I just upgraded to E3 plugs.. now im burning more fuel and I just found out my cars been running lean all along. I now need to upgrade the fuel system.

I need new Injectors and a new pump. but I dont know what size to get. I dont want to go to large but I also want some wiggle room for future mods.

Heres what I have.

Powerdyne Supercharger @6psi
78mm Throttle Body
New Plenium
Magnaflow Exhaust
E3 Plugs

I was thinking about a 190LPH pump and 24-30 # injectors....what should i do?

holy hell you still using stock pump and injectors. get 42# and 03 aviator fuel pump. it's better than the focus pump if you have returnless. not sure what year you are talking about. if you have return style fuel system then just use a 255lph. and get a tune
 
well you can get the 03-04 cobra injectors like i did and the plug adaptors to plug them to your harness. i paid 180 for them all. they are the blue ev6 injectors. check ebay for blue cobra injectors. they are 39-42#. trust me you don't skimp on this part with boost or you will be spending more money on the new motor. since it is not return style, get the 03 aviator fuel pump. not sure if that's the year or if it's an 05. it cost me 155 cuz i new the parts manager at the ford dealer. it will come in the entire basket so you need to remove it from the basket and install it in mustang stock pump basket. i drilled holes all over the bottom of my pump basket just so the basket won't run dry. i also did the fpcm and pump wire upgrade to be safe. you can't just get a regular 255 from jegs or whatever for a returnless fuel system as they won't last long since you will be deadheading the pump at all times.
 
One external Walbro 255 will get you to 400hp and a little beyond, to the point where the stock bottom end will frag. If you want to go beyond that, you will need to run a dual external Walbro setup, run Bosch 044 pump(s), or an Aeromotive setup. Checkout Home - Glenn's Performance for some of the options. I bought their dual external complete fuel system with a sumped tank.

Second my pump is internal and non return style

Im going to call my ford dealer and ask for a price check on there plugs. If i cant get them for a good price il call around and ask a few speed shops.
 
yeah but all that stuff you speak of is for a return fuel system and more expensive is it not

that system is configured, as pictured, as a return style system but it doesn't mean that you have to configure it that way. The only cheaper system is to buy a used 03/04 Cobra fuel tank and run dual internal pumps via a Fiore Precision fuel hat. The 96-98 tank can only run a single pump inside and even then the pump location and pickup isn't sumped at all, meaning it can end up drawing air in a corner or when you are at 1/4 tank of fuel. I went the route of a single internal Walbro 255 made for my 96 Cobra but for my current build did a lot of research on the fuel modifications available for our cars. A customer of the shop where my car is being built blew 2 motors due to fuel pumps not being able to keep up with fuel injector flow and therefore going lean. For me, I decided that it is one area where skimping isn't worth the risks.

Oh, and I sold my flow matched Precision Turbo 42lb injectors for like $175 I think...paid over 300 and they had under 300 miles on them. They sell quickly at that price.
 
i'm sure you can configure any pump to work with non return but for how long. i have yet to see a pump that is not stock actually designed for non return. they are built different. you can use the old style but for how long before they go out from being dead headed all the time.
 
It's not what I am usually looking into, but if I am not mistaken, Aeromotive makes a voltage control unit to alter flow. I honestly don't know how this is resolved with a returnless style system, but there are sure a lot of newer cobras that have had to deal with the issue...

1997 Mustang GTs had return fuel systems. Returnless systems didn't come out until mid 1998.

Look at your fuel rails. Do you have two fuel lines going to them with no fuel pressure transducer wired to the wiring harness? If yes, then you have a return fuel system.
