I got a 88 gt with a stock 302 in it, i broke the end of the crank so now for a quick fix im going to throw a 351 motor i got in it. the 351 is carburated and i had a few questions on the swap. Can you use the same throttle linkage. Do you need a diffrent bell housing. What kind of change do u have to make for the fuel lines cause i might want to go back to fuel injection. let me know what you guys think thanks.

That is no quick fix for sure.

A quick fix would be an explorer engine, a used 5.0 or converting the 351 to fuel injection , but changing to a carb and a 351 is more work and probably more money.

To convert the 351 to fuel injection can you use the stock 302 intake or do u have to modify it to compensate for the taller deck on the 351?

You need a 351 lower intake.
There are several out there made this way, and i believe you could also use the gt40 intake off of an older lightning.

I agree that is no quick fix!! To fuel injected is rather simple, 351 lower intake, if you get one from a truck I believe you can use stock upper bur don't quote me on that I've done GT-40 intakes back in the day they were still available new and cheap. As for bell housing it's the same, you will need a new flywheel for a 28oz in balance, distributor from a F.I. truck like a Lightning for example, 351 fuel rails, 351 "fox" swap headers and a few other minor doohickeys. Good Luck!!

well looks like im gonna try for the explorer motor cause i did some research and sounds like thats the easyist way to go, cause you can just use the intake off that motor and swap out the pan and oil pickup(thats what i read) thanks for all the great info you guys gave me!

Just remember to budget for gt40p headers, if you get an explorer engine out of one 97 or newer.

as far as the fuel lines go if you go carb.summit has a fitting that has a barb on one end for regular fuel line and it snape into your fuel injection line.you will also need a pressure regulator.
