Looks sick! Quick question. I'm not sure if every set of the 01+ factory headlights have this, but the ones on my Bullitt have this slight "film" (for lack of a better word) on them that is starting to crack/peal. I can't tell if its a clearcoat or a film because they are definitely the factory lights. Any ideas why this might be happening? The car only has 20k miles on it and was garage kept for 14k miles before I took ownership so they shouldn't be falling apart at such a low mileage.

A couple years ago, the clear coat on my stockers were yellow and peeling, too. Last spring I did the same thing Handz did, sanded them with 600/800/1000/1500/2000 and then hit them with a polishing compound on my rotary refining with a finishing polish. They looked brand new when I was done and continue to look new to this day. When I did this, I removed all of the clear coat that came on the stockers. It's been over a year and they still look great :nice:

Awesome! I gotta do this soon then. Guess I gotta order a 4" backing plate and some pads for my PC!

who said I was keeping them.... I actually already sold them :D

congrats! :nice:

i wanted to think you did it to make some $$$ i just couldnt tell if you were protecting them for storage or shipment

i was also thinking of why you would keep them --- which would be when someone with a kewbra asks for your services, you can just swap theirs out for the ones youve already treated

Have you tried Rain-X's headlight restoration kit by any chance?
