Please Post Your Gas Mileage

My '06 GT completely stock with 3.31 gears and ATX got about 16 city and 25 highway. My '10 GT, also stock, with stick and 3.73 gears only gets ~12 city and 20 highway . I only have 1K miles on my '10, so hopefully its MPG will improve.

My new 2010 only has 200 miles on it, so I can't really tell yet. My commute is a mix of highway and traffic, with most beign highway in the mornings. The first day, the average displayed on the computer was 12.1! Yikes. The second day it read 20.1, so it is already getting better.

2010 GT. Just hit 1,000 miles with it. In town, 12 or so. On the road 24 to 26.

Do the 2010's get the most unbelieveably horrible gas mileage off the lot, or what???

Mine got 12 the first week I drove it, went up to 14 in another week, a couple of months later it went up to a pretty consistent 17, and now I'm starting to creep up to around 18mpg in mixed (mostly in town) driving.

My '08 GT got around 19. I'm hoping now that I've got 3K on the odometer my 2010 will creep up to 19 and I'll be happy!

The good news is that with the MPG increase I'm also starting to feel like the car is producing more HP too; this is one of the longest break-in cycles I've had in a new car.

Did my 1st normal commute this week with cruise set @ 75 (65 thru Milwaukee) and driving in 6th as much as I could or RPM's around 12-1500 cruising on city streets but typically spirited accelleration thru the gears from every stop.

Trip consists of 1 round trip to & from home (Two Rivers,WI - Skokie,IL approx. 170 mi ... all but maybe 15 mi. is interstate, and all but 5 miles is 55+), then 2 trips to & from my parents house which is 15 mi from work and 1/2 interstate.

Just filled up at the local station with the computer saying 19 mi to E ... with a little over 1k miles total on odo this 404.2 mile trip took 14.032 gals or 28.81 MPG !! She's been on a straight diet of Citgo Ethanol Free 91 Premium since my dealership's courtesy fill of 87 E10 so I don't know if this is helping, but it can't hurt.

Computer ave. fuel economy said 26.9 MPG when I left work last night and had gotten up to 27.7 MPG when I finally got off the interstate 2.25 hrs later. On the way down to work on Monday, the ave got up to 29.1 MPG.

92.7 miles of City/County road driving last weekend netted me only 21.02 MPG ... compared to the 1st fill up after the prior 2 weekends was 209.6 miles @ 21.97 MPG.

My goal of doing my 400+ mile commute on ONE tank of gas has been achieved. And if the MPG's continue to improve as the engine breaks in further, all the better.

FYI ... I do have the std. 2.73 gears so she purrs under 2k RPM's @ 75 MPH (theoretically s/b 1823 RPM @ 75, but tach reads closer to 2k).

All this out of a 3500 lb vehicle with 235mm wide performance tires that easily barks these tires going into 3rd gear ... both the gear head AND miser in me are just lovin' this new daily driver !!

2008 GT-Auto, 32,000 miles, bbk cai, bbk high flow cats with flowmasters and a custom tune. i'm also dragging 245/40/18s on 9" wide and 285/40/18s on 10" wide. i travel 5 days a week at 65 mph on a 20 mile trip each way. the little box on the dash averages from 27 to 28 mpg on high test. no complaints with the milage.

I have a 2010 GT, 5-speed with 3.55 diff. I usually average around 28mpg highway; however, if I'm careful I can do even better. I recently drove from Ventura, CA to Phoenix, AZ on one take of gas, that's about 420miles. With the cruise on 70mph I averaged 30.5mpg, even with the A/C on. Not too bad for a car with more than 300hp.

Update ...

Filled up today ... 410.3 miles / 12.956 gal = 31.67 MPG ... a new best.

At the time of fill up, computer was showing "54-MI to E" and "29.9 AVE MPG".
Total miles on car to date is 4692.4.

Here is a summary of my commute MPG to date:
WEEK 1: 28.81 MPG
WEEK 2: 29.10
WEEK 3: 29.46
WEEK 4: 30.89
WEEK 5: 30.99
WEEK 6: 30.53
WEEK 7: 31.47
WEEK 8: 31.00
WEEK 9: 31.67

Yes, it is still getting "a little" BETTER by the week !!

These past two weeks I had the MAX-A/C on quite a bit too, so maybe I could of hit 32 without.

AVE caculated MPG from new is ... 4692.4 miles / 163.926 gal = 28.63 MPG

AVE COMMUTE only MPG ... 3583.1 miles / 118.03 gal = 30.36 MPG

Rented a 2011 V6 Auto mustang and drove it from Oklahoma City to Great Bend KS. only got about 22 mpg average. I thought is should have been more. It didn't seem to matter if I went 70 or 85 mph. Two years ago I rented an '07 Shelby and drove from El Paso TX to Denver CO in 9.5 hours and got 17 mpg. When I kept is under 80 it got 21 mpg. Driving through New Mexico there are too many stretches of highway in the middle of nowhere long enough to open it up to 115/125.

there seems to be mileage estimates all over the map in this thread. I guess a lot has to do with the environment

I'd say more with the driver. ;-(=)

In my 2010 Mustang GT I got about 12 mpg city and 18 highway all around town best was 25 mpg on the highway and 18 mpg on the highway towing 800lbs of motorcycle and trailer (5 mph over speed limit).

Im getting about 8 mpg in my 2011 Mustang GT/CS around town.

2010 GT FUN TIME 16 mpg if I drive it normal 20 mpg and highway and small towns 25.7 all highway 28 mpg. C&L cool air & tune 93 octane with Pypes for Exhaust. Hurst shift LOVE IT!!! The only reason I went for a 2010 over 2011 was Color ( Sunset Gold only 415 built in GT) Wanted a 2011 V6 in Blaze Yellow, could not wait and only saw color on web sites from auto shows. I only have 1800 miles. from 8/2010 Love the Car!!!!!! Fun to drive at any speed!

My 2007 Mustang V6 5spd I have about 32k Miles on it and I religiously get 18-18.5 city and when I drive to VA Beach I get anywhere from 26.5 mpg to 28 mpg depending on traffic. I thought about a new 2011 mustang V6 but the mileage improvement really isn't enough of an increase for me to justify buying a new car already. Now if Ford releases a mustang that gets 30 mpg without even trying - I'm down for that!

93 Octane fuel / 30 degree weather :)

29.5 Average MPG (The average for the full tank was around 29mpg)

Trip from Orlando, Florida (PRI Show) to Dallas, Texas

2011 Exile Twin turbo Mustang GT 5.0L V8 w/ 3.73 Gears 6-speed Manual Transmission

I've had mine long enough now to get a feel for it.
With full premium Gas I get around an average of 19 to 20 depending on how hard I press on the fun pedal.
With Midgrade (87 Oct.) I get around 18 - 19 (again depending on Gas Pedal usage)

That's a combo of interstate and some in town driving. It does very well on the Interstate, I was noting above 22+ MPG with the occasional speed up to get around slower drivers. :D (speed around 75 - 85 depending on whether I'm passing or not).
