Just test drove one of the 2012's. I'd have to say that adjustable steering is pretty damn sweet. Sport mode tightens it up real nice! Definitely worth the wait :D Now to just place my order here in a few weeks haha.

Yeah, I kinda wish mine had that....oh well. that's what happens. The next year is always going to have something new and cool. I don't think it would be out of the realm of possibility for an aftermarket company to make something that does that same thing...maybe better.

Ran across an interesting thread on another forum that I lurke on. Turns out if you double tap the traction control button on the '11 to put it into sport mode, it has the same effect on the steering as the '12 when selecting sport mode. Obviously I don't have a way of testing it out...may want to try it and see if it makes any difference.

EDIT: Maybe one of the service reps on the board can look into this and clarify.

Before I took my test drive, the sales guy set it up by going through the menu button deal and setting it up through there. Which, is kind of cumbersome in my opinion...whereas a separate button on the dash/console would be quicker if you're looking to change on the fly a lot. But, since it's going through the menu...maybe there will be some sort of software update or ability to add the functionality through to the '11 if the hardware is all the same....no clue on that end.

What would be real nice is to have a hot key on the console, that enables/disables features you preconfig through the menu options. That way you aren't having to fumble through the menu process before you want to take a spirited drive somewhere or track...but then not limited to preset variables set by ford. Maybe a tune accomplishes the same thing, though I don't know if it has access to SC,TC,EAS.

If I decide I need a little burn out when leaving a parking lot onto the street In my 11GT just double tap the trac control button while touching the brake pedal. The sport mode indicator light comes on and have at it. You can get a nice short burnout in first and rubber between each gear to fifth when tached to 5500.
caution::: Using the above a SINGLE tap on the button will turn OFF all traction control. Too dangerous at my driving skill level.

When driving around town after the burn outs with the sport mode tractiong control active, there is a shimmy in the wheel. It goes away immediately when you turn the switch to full control. It feels like it is pulsing the brakes but not really applying the breakes. Any one else got this?

I put my car into "sport" mode the other day. I would think even at slower speed the wheel would tighten up, but I couldn't tell anything.

I turned it off as I got on the highway...as it was 25º out and I was on my summer tires. :nice:

Hi caprbill51,

My name is Deysha from Ford Customer Service. I recommend you bring this up to your Ford dealer and make an appointment for them to diagnose it. Then message me with your VIN, mileage, contact info and dealer so I can help.
