So guys im possibly going to be getting rid of the car and i need some suggestions on what will help it sell if i decide to let it go. A few weeks back i decided to go shopping for a nice daily driver since putting 50 miles a day on this car was killing me in gas. I am literally getting gas every other day and the sad thing is is that i drive the highway every day to go to work..

my plan was to get a nice DD and set this car aside and put it in race car form. I started a nice wire tuck, and a weight loss program as well. I have pulled a good amount of weight out of the car to get the gas mileage back for dding it but it still isnt a great daily street car.

So anyway, in my hunt i came across a 2010 Evo X. never in a million years did i think i would even come close to owning this car but with some haggleing i ended up getting the car for a very damn good price. This car is completely amazing, with 16k miles and a FULL 10 year 100k mile bumper to bumper warranty i coulnd get a better deal.

now heres the thing. after a few weeks of driving this car i have come to realize that the evo out performs my mustang in all categories of driving.. as built as my mustang is, it just doesnt compare to the evo imo.

heres where i need help. Im not too sure of what a reasonable price would be to ask for this car and there are a few interior items that im not sure if i should sell the car with. The main thing being that i have a harness bar with harnesses in the car. the standard belts are still in the car and fully functional but i dont know if i should pull the bar out or leave it in. Will that kill the sale a little bit do you think. also i have a rear seat delete in the car as well. should i sell it with the seats in or out of the car? i have the rears with all hardware in my spare room in the closet so theyre about brand new looking as well. im just not sure in which for the car would be better to sell in. any help would be great.

ive had this car for about 5 years and id hate to get rid of it but im thinking maybe its time to let it go. i still absolutely love the car but im thinking parting ways may be whats best for now.. i think im going to leave it in the garage for about a month before i really decide to sell it and see what its like to not drive it for a month to help me decide. mustangs have been my passion but here lately, ive just been getting less and less interested in looking at them or talking about them. it may be the fact that at work its all about mustangs and maybe im just getting burned out with mustang because im around them all day everyday.. who knows..

any advise on selling her would be greatful and thanks in advance guys and gals :SNSign:

Wait out that month like you planned, your car looks AWESOME and it's been a labor of love with her so that has to account for something. I know my car isn't the fastest out there but bottom line for is that it's paid for and I enjoy driving it. It sounds like having it being your DD is getting old which I can attest to it wears on me too, but when I'm driving home after a rough day of work and put the foot down nothing can beat the sound and feeling of the V8.

Now if you come to realize after the month to 2 months that you don't enjoy it anymore well then it's your call if you have the space to keep it or whatnot. If I were going to sell your car I would take the somewhat race pieces out and put the stock interior back, it will sell better when a buyer comes to look at it vs a setup for race.

can't out run ugly and 4 cylinders sound ghey

I'd drive my Mustang any day over some stupid turbo 4-banger *** crap even if it would get owned in a drag race and in a road race.

thanks tx. it may just be the DDing thats killing it for me..i figured the no rear seats ant harness bar might kill the sale a little too

n8 i completely understand where your coming from.. nothing will ever match the sound of my mustang.. but hey, it could be worse, i was looking for an srt4 before i stumbled across the evo :hide:

I would LOVE to have an Evo X...they are sick, and very fast.

I would definitely wait out the month or 2 and just see where you are at with the car. I have always liked your car, it's very clean and very nice.

As for selling it, I would definitely take the race oriented stuff out of it.

thanks for the compliments man!! ive done a few things to it that i havnt shared too...

this evo is incredilbe.. i guess i will wait it out...i went a year without it before so idk how good my plan will work out.. The more i ask around im definitely finding out to take the race stuff out

any ideas on what i could ask for it?

my friend has a 2010 evo x with exhaust, a down pipe, BOV, and like 22#'s of boost. They are actually pretty nice cars. I love the recaros and big back seat ;). my 5.0 pulled on him on the highway though which was pretty cool. and the evo x's dont have a 6 speed? Wtf?

I went through the exact thing your are a couple years ago when I bought my WRX. My Fox sat for a few months (2-3), while I racked up miles on the WRX. I was super happy with it and started considering selling the Fox. Well I had an accident in the WRX which put it in the body shop for a couple weeks and I had to start driving the Fox. Then I remembered why I bought it. After I got the WRX back I switched off and drove the Fox to work one week, then the WRX the next and it has worked out real well.

I would definitely let it sit a little while and enjoy the newness of the EVO (which is an impressive car btw). If you aren't hurting for garage space, or money requiring you to sell the Mustang you might find after a couple months when you get back into it you will enjoy driving it a lot more.

tough choice, if your not strapped for cash or parking spaces id keep the stang. you have made a very nice car there and it would be a shame to let some dumbass jack it up!!! the stang is a tough daily driver, mine sucks gas like its running out of the tank. i thought i was going to flip my car for a quick sale and now i look forward to driving it after a long day, its a stress relief or anger management tool for me. f the pyscho therapy crap, drive a 5.0!!!

Exo X is a nice car and it performs pretty well. I just cannot see my self driving a 4 banger. Why get a 4 banger when you could of purchased a nice C5 Z06, Terminator, Caddy CTS-V...... all these cars get over 25 MPG. Good luck with the EVO! Im gonna stop being a hater now lol.

AWD when driven hard is quite the experience.

when i was doing the build on this car it was down for about 7 months.. it was definitly a great feeling to get back into it because i was driving a 4cyl jeep at the time lol.. but with the evo i feel i may not miss the time out of it... however, like you, when i got rear ended in the jeep i was definitely nice to have a back up plan...i never considered that option until you mentioned that..good call :nice:

so far im not strapped for cash and i have plenty of parking space so thats not an issue..but the extra cash to get rid of the car payment would be nice... it would be sad though to see somone in my car though...especially if they do crap it out

good points however, i absolutely hate corvettes... i respect the ls motors and the power they make but ive never ever been a fan of the corvette cars...i thought about a termi but thought it would be dumb to have 2 mustangs and unless i rob a bank i wont be owning a cts-v anytime soon lol...cts-v's have to be my favorite car of all time and i would do anything to be in one but damn theyre expensive

i think i may just be burned out on mustangs since i work at a mustang shop and deal with them every day. i have noticed in the past couple weeks that when someone pulls up in a 96-04gt i kind of cringe at the fact that mines not in the parking lot :(

i guess nows a good time to pul this biotch apart and detail every inch of her...ive been need ting to paint the engine bay since ive tucked some wires away...maybe that project will keep me wanting it  decisions, decisions lol

oh and the 6 speed thing..it is pretty lame with a 5 speed since at 75 im running 2500rpms on the highway which is no different then the mustang...on the other hand, the evo mr's come with a 6 speed......automatic lol....cant hate on them though cause the 6 speed paddle shift is pretty damn awesome and has no shift delay at all...

i do have an ams intercooler, and boost controller on the way though...next up will be a downpipe and a tune and that will be about it... probably lower it a bit more but im not sure on that just yet

no wire tuck picks just yet...not 100% finished yet...about 86%...

ill get pics up of the new car and the progress of the tuck as soon as it stops raining here...it hadnt rained here for months until the day i bought the car...now its dry while im at work then pours right before i get off so i havnt had a chance to snap pics yet

i will definitly be upping the boost a little bit...my friend ryan has a stage 4 evo 9 and hes going to be helping me choose the right parts for this thing

First I have to say congrats on finding a car that you like. I know its an evo or a 4cyl, but its a great looking fast car as well. I almost went the same route a year ago, except I've already put 10k+ into the motor and looks which gave me more reason to hold on to it. So instead of selling it I went out and buy a used 2008 hybrid with 56k for 10k. I purchased it when gas was $2.60 in california as well. I figured it was the best time to buy, and boy was i right. Prices of 4cyl cars shot through the roof when gas his $4+ a gallon. I'm guessing you got a good deal on it otherwise the 2011-2012 GT 5.0's look pretty sweet.

I say look at your options.

1) obviously money is not an issue since you can own two cars, but the question is the mustang paid off?

If the mustang is paid off, at most what could you sell it for vs how much have you paid for it total?

2) Do you have any other cars? Maybe its a good idea to keep it as a backup, you never know when you might need a second car, for example you get stuck on the road or someone crashes into you.

3) If you have children, are they near the driving age? If so maybe its a better idea to keep the car for him or her as a first car.

4) If money is no issue and you have a garage, I would park it, pull the engine and rebuild it from the bottom up, piece by piece. Make it a project car, even if it takes years it will be a car you will love for a long time. Even if you have no car experience this could be a time to learn. You can buy all the tools needed, get videos or help online or on forums or even have forum members help for less than a shop would charge.

5) If you have a wife or gf does she love the mustang? if so keeping it for her to use would mean a less chance of her using your evo.

Once its sold its sold, so good luck with you decision.

Your car is beautiful, but sometimes you may need to move on.

The other day I noticed a small scratch on my car and contemplated getting rid of it for a nice DD, but I know I would miss it.

If you are to keep your mustang, you would have to make it faster than the evo. That's the only practical reason to keep it.
