Should I keep the Cobra front end or go back to the GT???

Hey all StangNet peeps.... I wanted to take a pole to get everyones opinions out there. I have a 96 GT vert that belonged to my sister since 2000. Long story short...she passed away back in Aug of 2010 and I since inherited the GT. Do to an accident she had about 6yrs ago the stang now has the Cobra front bumper & hood. It was a buddy of mine that did the work and thats what he put on, said it was all he could get in order to get the car done faster, I dont know. So anyways, so now I have this Cobra bumper but GT fogs & the hood is all messed up where you can tell he had to refab the front driverside corner. So I would like everyones opinions... Should I keep the Cobra front end or should I go back to the GT? I have the original GT hood still (just some damage in front thats easily covered with one those car bra things that just cover the front part of the hood, and its a lil scratched up) but I would have to get a GT bumper. The reason I am considering the change back is obviusly for one I have a GT not a Cobra, two is I can not find Cobra fogs & the brackets, and three is where the damage is that the guy refabed the fiberglass is splitting and just looks messed up.

Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

Here are a couple of pics

Your car looks just like my old '95 GT. Minus the crappy headlights and starfish wheels.

So I say keep it. I like the foglights.

Edit - Read your post. Without the foglights the Cobra bumper is kind of pointless. The hood and the bumper together may be a little Cobra overkill.

But I'll say like I did in the other thread. If it doesn't show snakes or say Cobra, throw all you want on it and don't feel guilty.

I'd just go with whatever costs the least amount of money to make it look clean.

The 96-98 cobra front end is by far the best looking front end for those cars. I would keep it. But then again, some people on this website will call you a poser for having that front end :/

I would have to agree the the 96-98 Cobra front end is the best looking IMO. I also heard that there is a difference between the Cobra Coupe bumper and the Cobra Vert bumper. I wonder if thats true:shrug:. I know some will cry poser but at least I dont have the Cobra rear bumper to lol.

Yeah without the foglights it really makes no sense. and the GT fog lights are still there but the guy that did the work decided to half ass the paint job and ended up spraying black paint over them along with the euro headlight & corner markers which cost round $350 6 to 7 yrs ago (pricy since the corners dont have the DOT amber reflector( so I was tol at the time)). In fact the whole car has a messed up paint job cuz of that jack azz, thats why the paint is all flaked on the front.

Back on topic though lol... thats why I am considering swaping back to GT is cuz I cannot find the damned Cobra foglights & brackets to save my life, and the one pair I did find was outside my budget & ford dealer says they are no long available. So I am at a loss on what to do. I am also considering replacing the hood back to GT because of a few things one is the driver side front corner was refabricated and the fiberglass is now splitting then when you pop the hood its all cracked underneath. I like the way your old GT looked with the Cobra bumper & GT hood thats what I am thinking of doing. Do you have a head on shot of that car?

Sorry I wrote a book lol. Thanks for the input.

I paid about $50 for my Cobra foglights but that was like 6 years ago.

96-98 Cobra front bumper and hood are much better looking IMO than the GT. But the GT's look good too. Here's mine. I tried to brighten the pic up a bit to make it easier to see. For the poser police, mine only has the Cobra nose and hood. No snake emblems anywhere and still says GT 4.6L and rear bumper says Mustang GT. On top of that, it is s...l...o...w. No one would mistake it for a Cobra. ;)
