Prelude seats in a fox body?

Holy old thread.

I'll say this...the original fox tweed seats SUCK. Mainly b/c the seat frames are typically bent or broke. Gansta lean baby! Not to mention the 20+ foam is getting old for my back side. I like to keep it in the family so I have 02 GT seats in my car now and I love them. If I'm going to be cruising I want it to be comfortable! I'm getting old.

But do whatever you want. It's your car. But you'll def get opinions :)

This post failed right here...

*Snooty voice* Oh sorry, she doesn't drive a bee emmm doubleyouuu.

The Fusion seats look nice but you need to have the donor seats come from a 2 door vehicle.

I'm assuming you're talking about the lack of a tilt forward feature. That is something you'd have to figure out, along with the mounting- the Fusion seats have a pretty tall base and a relatively flat floor. Still, I always thought the Fusion seats are nice pieces.

Lol.

Honda= fail. You have failed me Nik and your fellow Americans. Quit now.

And which Mazda would that be?

The Fusion is based on the CD3 chassis, which is Mazda design and is shared with the Mazda 6 and the CX-9, along with some other FoMoCo vehicles. The 4 banger and automatic trans in my car are also Mazda design. I'd have to go look at it, but I want to say I even remember seeing Japanese symbols under the hood (though I could be confusing that with my wife's Honda).

I wonder if people would just be better off installing new seat foams in their stock seats. Most of these cars are 20-25 years old at this point. Some new "cushion for the pushin" might be a more viable alternative? Not to mention keep that factory look?
+1.

I'm freakin amazed at what topics bring out the lurkers. Seems the more ridiculous the topic, the more you see names here that never pop up on regular day to day blather.

( I'm sure this'll come as a revelation to the unitiated) ,........... TMI has already posted a thread where you can take the stock sport seat, upgrade it w/ new or even SVO seat foam (now they're like new) recover them in BRAND NEW upholstery designed to fit either the stock, or SVO seat, and they fit right back where they were unbolted from. So now you can have it both ways,...... new, or new and better bolstered, all w/o fabbing one single thing.

W/ all of the upholstery choices they offer premade for either a sport seat, or an SVO seat, why in the world would anybody consider putting a seat out of some ricer in one of these cars. Nothing says transplanted better than a set of seats that doesn't match the rear or the style of the rest of the interior .:nonono:

Oh yeah,.......almost forgot .............IMO.

Mike, you are kind of bitter these days. Why dont you get another project to hurt yourself with, and then post up more funny stories for us?

Oh there'll be no more build threads, as there'll be no more builds. As for the stories, they have ran their course also. The last one was so poorly received, that I'll be keeping the rest to myself too.:fuss:

So I guess you're right, all I have left is the bitterness as I acknowledge the waning light that is the rest of my life................
If only I had listened to my parents.......:nonono:

I have an idea for you. Why dont you retrofit some Honda Civic V-tech rear seats into the back of your car? I bet they would fit perfectly with your rear mounted A/C system, and are way more comfy than the stock seats no matter what foam or fabric you have.
