Next some advice, installing a early model 351 W in my 68. Need some help finding headers that will fit , should I go with long tubes or mid length? I have looked at JBA pretty pricey read a forum on Hedman elite, half the price . Anyone have any experience with this type set up? Installing a Tremec TKO w hydraulic clutch.

I just installed some longtubes on my 351w with a t5 and cable clutch. After some failed attempts, I ended up with a set of FPA longtubes. They are pricey, but the fit was dead on perfect. not sure how a hydraulic set up would work with these...

I also ended up with FPA headers on my 427W in my '68. Very painfully priced, but I couldn't find any other options. For what it's worth, they were a pleasure to deal with and delivered it more quickly than promised to help me hit a deadline.

I allso have the 351w in my 67 fastback.I refused to spend the big moneys for the headers. I went with the 289 stock cast iron exhaust manifolds & then added a stainless 2 &1/4" exhaust system.I didn't have to clearance the z bar or steering box or idler arm or shock towers.

I've rana the Hedman Husler 85003 and the 85004 of my '66 and '70 mustangs, fit perfect with toploader in '66 and auto in '70. They also are not cheapm around $700 plain or $950 coated. Made good power with them.

I did the same job 5 years ago - bought Hedman first, hopeless fit around plugs (GT40 ally heads, NOT GT40P), sold them and bought JBA shorties, s/s ceramic coated. Bolted straight on, still look shiny silver finish after 20,000 miles.
