I obtained a motor that was recently rebuilt.(Verified) Procomp 2.02 heads and adjustable roller rockers came with. I heard the motor run in another car and ran smooth without smoke. I got the motor with the heads off. Installed a custom cam installed straight up and reassembled the motor. I used an adjustable pushrod etc and got new push rods. Cobra intake bbk 70mm, 30lb injectors and matching mass. Rockers carefully adjusted at just less that 3/4 turn. New PCV valve.
On start up I have a plume of blue smoke. Smokes at idle and more when I give it gas. Just did a dry/wet compression check and across the board I have 110lbs with lil bump when a wet test was done. Rings ruled out. The back two cylinders #4 and 8 are wet with oil. The neighboring cylinders #3 and 7 are a tad wet w oil. The others all look great. NO water in the oil. The car idles ok and revs quick. But doesnt sound quite right. When under load it farts a little and definitely doesnt have the power it should. Whistle develops in the intake. ANY IDEAS??

I was hoping to get more of a definitive idea instead of just yanking the heads and off to the machine shop. Could this be just a gasket issue? Timing? It uses quite alot of oil. Although it made me smile when I polluted a Prius that had full anti stickers when on the way to work.

head gaskets on properly and torqued correct? 110 PSI is not good. Either your motor is weak or you assembled it improperly. The fact the back plugs are oil soaked leads to me gaskets- intake- head- are not on right.

Is it possible someone forgot to install valve seals when the heads were assembled?
wont cause it to smoke that bad, mine have no seals on any of the exhaust valves and the car doesn't smoke a bit.

I would definitely look towards a bad intake gasket, could have slipped out of the way during the install?
