Hey guys have a 94 mustang gt. Just put a new disburator in. And trying to figure out the best timing. All that's done to the motor is Flowmaster 40 series exuast and a cold air intake. Right now I have the timing set at 13 and it seems to lack power so something is not right. Hope you guys can help this is my first mustang

Ok thanks. I check mine again last night and that is were it is set at. and I have no low end power. Go to get on it and nothing I put new distributor in ,spark plug wires, spark plugs, ignition module, cap and rotor I put ngk iridium plugs in was thinking maybe they weren't gap right. Some times it acts like it's going to die but never does. So I'm at a lost just feels like it has a governor on it idle good

Are you sure you got the firing order correct when installing the new wires? Wires seated on the plugs all the way? As far as the plugs, I never run anything other then good old regular autolites. What kind of distributor did you install?

Just a new one from o rielly not a reman. Check all wires everything is right it idles fine no back fire. Just no power. The only thing I did change was the ignition module. And I know alot of people have bad ones right out of the box. The only mod that was added on was a cold air intake. But did not find any leaks around the mass air flow sensor. And I unplug the mass airflow see if it made a difference and the car would run bad so don't think I'm having any issues there. just at a lost.

When you checked timing did you remove spout and set base timing? Little grey square thing around passenger side wall? It'll cause a lot of issues if you time the car with spout in I learned that the hard way lmao

There's 2 firing orders for our cars HO and non-HO. I use HO on my 94 GT.

Thanks guys for all the info. Yes did take the spout out when i timed it. And I did not relize that there were two diffrent firing orders for are cars Ill have to re check that. Cause I have the number one spark starting on the left side which would be passenger side. Cause from what I seen starting on the passenger side it goes 1234 and driver side 5678 when I change all that stuff I did one wire at a time. If thst makes since

Yeah spark plugs go 1234 on passenger and 5678 on driver side. HO should be the firing order for your car.

Do you have any vacuum leaks? I know those cause idling issues and low power issues. Had my vacuum lines mixed up and the car would barely rev up and would bog under the load
