Did you really make an offer? It should sell for more in that area of your offer.

It's nice, if you really made an offer and you get it, let us know. That would definitely be a nice car for you.

I'll bet it goes for closer to their asking price. That's not just a clean Cobra, that is a fully built street monster. No way you could build that car for that money.

I'm taking a more sober look at the car today, and I think I'm more in love with the condition of the car, and the fact that it's a blk/blk Cobra than anything else. I appreciate the build, especially the brakes and T56 with 3.55s, because it'll make it a nice car to cruise in. The 600 rwhp is a bunch, obviously and should keep it on par, maybe a little faster than the Hellcats, Z06s, GT500s.

However, someone said "street monster," and I only kinda agree. On the plus side, it has an indestructible block. Scat is a fine company for internals, but their products run the gamut from cast to top-end forged stuff. I'm not quite sure why someone would put together a 363 aftermarket block with great internals and then limit it with the other parts they put on. It looks like someone had all of this stuff on a stock 302, blew it up, and then built an aftermarket block to swap everything over to. That fuel system is maxed out. The blower, too. Edelbrock performer heads and 1 5/8" headers don't belong on a 363. I'm not even sure about the RPM II intake. 2.5" exhaust on a blown 363? That's so bad it makes me want to check it to make sure they're telling the truth. I may not be able to test displacement, but it should be easy to make sure it's at least a Boss block. Also, it's kinda funny to see the stock fan-clutch on a car this modded. LOL. Tubular K-member but stock A-arms? That's a bit unusual. I guess they needed the K-member to lower the motor to clear the stock hood.

So, the motor is probably fine making the power that it's at, but all of those parts on the motor, fuel system, and probably computer would need modification to go any further. That could be a good thing. The point to that car would just to be a street cruiser anyway. I don't want/need another race car. I definitely don't like the dumps. That just makes these cars drone, and I have always love some nice shiny tail pipes.

Talked to the owner. He already has an offer of $24.5k with a buyer saying he'll pay cash next week. It's an understandable one to me, but not one that is worth matching given all of the things I'd have to go through to make this work. My life is really busy and getting even more complicated as I prepare to move to California and start a Masters program. So the only way doing this makes sense is if it's a great deal or the absolute perfect car. $24.5 buys a pretty amazing fox-body any day of the year. It's so close to what I want in color interior and a lot of the build, but I could imagine finding something even better at that price in the future.

Also, it's sounded like this guy didn't build or have it built. He was confident that it was a Boss block, but I could tell he doesn't know more than he's been told. So, it's definitely the type of car I'd have to look closely at or have someone competent look at. Guys like this might think they have something that they really don't.

At 25k...I'd rather build/mod my own fox body. I like cobras and understand their limited production value... but have no desire to buy a modded version. At that point they aren't worth anymore (in general) than a similarly modded "non" Cobra fox body.

Looks like a nice car though.

While the guy that owns it might not know a lot about it, I can tell you diamond pistons are not junk. It most likely has good forged rods and crank in it if it truly has diamond pistons. The guys on mtod that make the engine masters videos also did a dyno shootout on exhaust sizes that pretty much proves anything larger than 2.5" exhaust on a small block is a waste of money hp wise. That's actually not new news though.. Same with headers. They made the most with 1 3/4 vs 1 7/8, but iirc it wasn't a ton more than the 1 5/8... although I'd have to watch it again to absolutely guarantee that. As for the rpm II? I've seen those things go deep into the 9s. Great intake, just bulky and difficult to work around.

Here's some numbers on that: http://www.yellowbullet.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1680881#/topics/1680881?page=1

I chuckle when people bash edelbrock stuff. It's not the most expensive or highest flowing out there, but you can make a lot of power with it. Especially with boost.

Personally, it makes no difference to me if the car gets bought or not... I just shake my head when someone calls a stroker junk if it doesn't have afr or huge tfs heads on it. Lots of heads out there that perform well, people are too brainwashed.

What are you going on about? Edelbrock Performers are fantastic heads. They're great on a 302. They aren't great on a 363. Don't make it out like I'm bashing Edelbrock. That's nonsense.

I've seen the Cobra intake make close to 400rwhp on a stroker. With a turbo or blower, that car is going 9s on pump gas, no sweat. I guess by your standard, the Cobra owner should never have bothered upgrading to the RPM II. I think the RPM II is a fine intake, but as I said, "I'm not sure" it's the best idea on this displacement. I'd need to study it a little more. In fact, I must add that while it's not the highest priority on my list, I might just design a little intake show-down on my setup. My first performance shop talked me into the TFS-R-Box, but I think I'd have gone with a ported HSII. Otherwise, I like the RPMII as an alternative. I'm working with less displacement and a very mild cam, though. The more aggressive the cam and lower the rpm and displacement, the less flow you need from the heads and intake. The more mild the cam, like mine, the more flow you need. So, we'll see how it shakes out, but I think I'd benefit from either of the other intakes.

You suggest that the Scat internals must be forged. Cool assumption and all, but then don't you wonder why someone who just spent thousands more on a short block to increase its power potential decided to save a few hundred on the heads, almost no savings on the headers, and restrict the potential unnecessarily? Doesn't it concern you at all when the owner's evidence is, "well the guy I bought it from said so."?

Go ahead and show the article/link the video comparing the 1 5/8" headers with the others. Your "IIRC" comment lacks any details that provide actual insight. If this was a from scratch build, would you put those headers on a 363 with a ":leghump: it, good enough" mentality you seem to be chuckling at me for not having when I'm the guy actually making the offer on a car?

You're right about the 2.5" exhaust. That's what I run on my car without concern with intent to be at 900rwhp+. I was thinking it was stock size, for some reason, even as I typed 2.5.

FWIW i have ported tfs 170s and 2.5 exhaust on my 363 . Are the heads holding it back some ? Sure- but for a street car i think the smaller head deff keeps the power in a more usable place on the street. I have an s trim which is getting swapped for a ysi in the coming weeks. I do wish i had a set of 205s on it though

TOOLOW,

Actually, I'm not sure why I said that about the 2.5" exhaust, until 1000+rwhp I don't think dual 2.5" exhaust is a restriction. I was thinking stock 2.25" exhaust even as I was typing 2.5. My bad.

TFS 170s are definitely a restriction on a 363, and they aren't an advantage at any RPM. We've got a guy here making 336rwhp with TFS TEA 205s on a 302! Intake selection (runner length) is going to make a bigger difference on shifting the power band than the port volume of the head. That is not to say your heads are a restriction on the low end. They'll be right on par with a bigger head until the engine wants more air than is efficient for those little heads.
