Build Thread My Never Ending 89 Notch Thread

Damn I ain't been on in a week. I think my outputs I used were the ford iac (which sucks you have to sacrafice an output for it) trans brake and for my boost control. Thanks for the shoutout about my car moving but alas I have yet to lift the wheels ...:bang:
You need to update us on the new setup? Sorry Jeff for hijack

I hate having to order :poo: from two places . How the hell does LMR not carry Iac pigtails .

Had to get the pig tail from Rock and the Ron Francis firewall grommet LMR .

Tonight consisted of

- Tying in msd points wire to the Holley dist harness and looming it . Giving the msd a key on ref being that it no longer comes from the eec.
- running Holley ecu power and ground harness through fire wall and hooking to direct battery power .
- removing mass air meter
-re pinning tps for 3 pin gm weather pack.
- took elbow off the power pipe for the recirc valve since it's getting a BOV
- swapped out ECT and IAT sensors

Plugging away . Main harness and injector harness installed . Main harness looks a little bulky due to some of sensors I wasn't using I just zip tied to the harness . I had to open up the harness and move some of the sensors around and extend the coolant temp sensor wires . Re taped the loom up and that was it .

Test fit the intake .

Installed the 90 degree elbow back on the power pipe .

Still have to make the fuel pump connection. One more power and ground connection to make for the injector power in the harness . Wire in the iac lead , the fan control leads to the I/o harness . Install the wide band 02 .

And the harness is basically done .

Custom 8inch blower pulley with stock size serp pulley on the back of it . Normally the vortech renegade is underdriven . I didn't want that . Didn't want to change my belt or anything else .

So the price has dropped then. :)

When they were made to order, they were considerably more. I have 3 or 4 different ones lying around somewhere. When I got a quote for a just an over sized crank pulley (single belt) it was over $700. :notnice: I'm sure someone has these made and sitting on a shelf by now.

So tonight's progress consisted of.

Wiring in the loose wires in the harness. Loomed them and brought them in the car. Wired the fuel pump wire . Key on from the coloumn to the key on for the harness . Ground using the old ecu ground bolt . Power for the injector portion of the harness .

Also mounted the vortech blow off valve on my discharge tube

Getting very close . I think i made decent progress for only working on it the last couple of days

So what's left ?

Install fire wall grommet .
Remove old 02 sensor harness
Install wide band 02 and route harness.
Pin in ford IAC connector to the I/o harness
Run wires to fan relay to eliminate fan controller .
Install new air filter on the power pipe.
Mount ecu .
Reinstall passanger seat .

Do you expect any power increase from the new ecu alone? Just wondering if the newer technology would allow it to make more power.

Joe
Like mike said far more control and it will be more precise .

The 8 inch lower pulley is a different story though . With that im hoping to see 15-17psi . And 650-670 and I'll be real content
