First off I'm new here and this is my first post. I just recently purchased a 94 mustang cobra in great condition. I ordered a C&L cold air intake kit (Item #: 600062 on American muscle) that is calibrated for 24# injectors. After I ordered the kit I did more research (should have before obviously) and people say that you need to get a 19# calibrated MAF because the computer makes the injector size adjustment. I've read several different posts on this but I'm looking for further clarification. Will my kit work that I ordered? It's listed on American muscle as compatible with 94-95 cobras and there is also no option to order the kit calibrated to 19# injectors

I may be wrong but I belive cobras came with 24s
Quick search says yes they did.

I know the cobra comes with 24# injectors but I actually just put the kit on and it ran like S*** and backfired once through the intake so I shut it down immediately. No damage done but it's clear that what everyone is saying is correct. The problem is that the MAF sensor and housing on the cobra and GT are identical, even the 19# calibration. The difference is in the computer. The cobra's computer sees the same 19# calibrated MAF reading as the GT but I believe it then does some scaling in the computer to compensate for the flow rates of the 24# injectors the cobra has. I don't understand why they can list the kit as compatible with 94-95 cobras when at checkout there is no option for 19# calibration. Someone chime in and please correct me if I'm wrong though. I don't want to misinform others.

The MAF on all 94-95 GT & Cobra engines are the same, calibrated for 19# injectors. The Cobra computer makes the adjustment internally for the 24# injectors. If you put in a 24# MAF in, the computer will think there's more air coming in than there really is and the car will run pig rich.

Just repeating the previous post, you need a MAF calibrated for 19# injectors when installing on a Cobra.

So how can American muscle sell a kit that fits 94-95 cobra but not offer a calibration option that will actually work for a stock car? Weird, anyways I'm returning and getting the BBK kit since C&L is iffy anyways. Thanks for the help guys.
