Hi,

I just purchased a 2012 Mustang GT Premium and I am having trouble pairing my (old) iphone 5s to Sync. Does anyone have any helpful hints on how to get it done? It keeps saying sync line it. Thanks.

Really? I've had 3 SYNC equipped cars outside of a master reset here or there no concerns.
In the F150 Sync is a menace, a safety hazard, and an endless source of frustration. There are multiple threads about it on the F150 forum I post on, including one that's over 100 pages long. Master Resets are a weekly thing at this point. I long ago gave up on setting it up just right. Screw Sync.

I called Ford customer service and they told me what to do. As silly as this sounds (keep in mind I am new to this), I just had to hit the voice button and say Bluetooth audio. It connected right away. Thank you for everyone's help.

That was going to be my answer if you'd said bluetooth.

Don't get used to it working correctly, and remember to re-pair your phone and re-download your phonebook after every master reset.

Sometimes it gives you warning when it's going to crash. My favorite is this one I posted to the F150 forum I'm on:

"Jump in the truck, defaults to FM radio (of course it does, the fact that I have not once actually used FM radio in this truck is not relevant to Sync!), hit the button... No "Sync, Say a Command", just the chime. So I say "Bluetooth Audio"... the system does it's double "you fail" beep, then proceeds to say "or if using, or if using, or if using turn-by-turn directions, say, say, say next turn or, or, or" and then chiming again.

Then Sync just crashed so hard that I had to pull over and pull the fuse in a parking lot.

Go home Sync, you're drunk.

I'm so ready to trade this truck in, and it won't be on another Ford. Sync is a solid 50% or more of the reason."

It hasn't done that one again... Too bad really, it was funny.

Hey, do you know if anyone has jail-broken these units and loaded well... anything that sucks less, onto it?

I'd like to see a couple threads on that.

:chin Might be worth a trip to the JY to find one of my own to play with.

I replaced mine with a nice Pioneer head unit until meth-heads broke into the truck 3 different times trying to steal it and I got tired of going to the junkyard for new driver side front windows.

For awhile my truck had been through more windows than oil changes.

I have never had a car broken into, maybe it is time to move to a nicer neighborhood...
Eventually crackheads and meth-heads run out of stuff to steal in their own neighborhoods and come to the nice part of town. Hell these hillbilly cousin-****s were from a hicktown 10 miles away.

I thought this might be worth a try?
