So the oil pump went out on my sons '00 v6... not that big of a deal right... unless he doesn't pay attention and it ends up throwing a rod out through the bottom of the oil pan. Now to my question. I have an '03 v6 donor that I didn't realize had a few extra parts on the engine. As far as he little butterflies in the lower intake- to use this (cause he listened to his friends instead of waiting on me and broke his lower on the 00 so I have to use the 03) all I should have to do is remove the flaps themselves via the 2 phillips head screws on each .....Right?

Part 2..... The CTS on the head of the 03 is not there on the 00 and there is no plug on the head of the 00 ( to fill the hole) so am I correct to assume that this is just an ambient internal sensor and that those holes do not go into the water jacket? If any water even goes into the head... I've worked on the pushrod 302's a plenty but this is my first v6 and I'm just covering my bases.

OH and btw I am tearing the 03 engine down to inspect and reseal top to bottom so this doesn't happen again.

Thanks,
Nate
