Evening,
I went to install my instrument cluster back into my car and I can not get the speed cable to go into the back. It is a new cable and I unfortunately trashed the old one. The issue is that the metal part that seats into the back of the gauge is hexagonal and where it seats it round. Square peg, round hole.......we all know how that turns out. I am assuming that I have the wrong year or something. It is a 67 Fastback, 390 with a 4 speed top loader.

Before I order a new one I wanted to check the community to see if it is in face the wrong cable.
Thank you,
Mark

Are you SURE the cable end is hexagonal? If it is, it's wrong. All Ford cables have a 1/8-inch square end. Or, are you talking about the end of the cable HOUSING, which seats against the back of the speedometer, held in place by a threaded ring? imp
