Code 94 And 44

My car just has a rubber hose that goes from the smog pump to the tube that goes to the back of the heads. It’s hard to get a picture of it without taking the intake off, but it’s just a straight rubber hose. Is there supposed to be something in between?

There’s two valves in that picture you posted that my car doesn’t have. My car is a 88GT, speed density. Not sure if that makes a difference.

Here's a better pic.

Smog pump hooks up at right.

Left side..top to the tube behind heads, bottom hose to tube to the h pipe.

There are two vac lines that run to the solenoids that come from vacuum solenoids behind the pass strut tower. Are those there?

Thanks karthief and 5L5. Thanks for hanging in there with me with all my stupid questions. I just jacked up my car, belly full of steak and potatoes, (blah), and looked. I don’t have the opening for the pipe down at the h pipe. Didn’t even notice that the pipe from the smog tube to the h pipe was missing. Remember, I’ve only had this car since February and haven’t messed with the exhaust. Previous owner must have not put it back on. The exhaust is some sort of Frankenstein exhaust. I’ll have to address that. No disrespect to J richter but I wouldn’t have figured it out without your guys’ help. He told me to just figure it out.

Well the tech stuff, which jrichker has an endless suppy of, tells you what it malfunctioning, it's up to the end user (car owner/person trying to fix it) to perform the steps, which you did, now that tube may or may not be plugged up. It is still worth the effort to check it.
One thing to remember: you came have codes even if your check enging light is not on.

I know he does, this forum wouldn’t survive without jrichker. Thanks to you guys, I found out that I have parts missing that are leading to my codes and I need to locate those and then go from there. I’ll report back.

Can you tell me where the vacuum lines the come off the top of the valves go? Are those the ones you are saying go to the TAB/TAD Solenoids behind the shock tower?

Yes. They normallt sit behind the pass strut tower along with the EGR vacuum regulator. You'll need those as well if they are missing.

It's no wonder you couldn't pass emissions seeing as you were just dumping air into the head ports only.
