Hey! You Texas Boys!

This place?

http://kennysburgerjoint.com/

The Frisco location?

Sounds just about right! It’s about a four hour drive for me. That’ll give me time to run over and get my parts first.

I’ll leave here around sevenish, that’ll give me plenty of time to get there after I get lost a time or two.

@74stang2togo @LaserSVT ? You guys going to come up? Beers and burgers, can’t be a problem there, right?

That's the place, Legacy and 121 basically. Right now it's showing 90% rain which is looking good for me.

I could make Waco, but DFW is 2.5 hours on a good day, and I already drive an average of 600 miles a week between my commute and test drives.
Gaaack! I understand, 2.5 hours.......I’m definitely not worth that.

Waco will be a somewhat quick stop to pick the IRS.

Plans are still fluctuating right now about Waco.

Ok, everything is on for me!

I'll leave here at 5:00 am and head to Waco first and pick up the IRS, then head for beer and burgers. Then I'll get my new coilovers and KB lower control arm.

This is a wife approved trip as of this evening too!

Assuming things go well I'll see y'all at 2:00.

Might be kind of a dumb question-but since most of the irs guys are in here-how come the coyote era irs’s are so cheap? To wide to swap into anything else or something? Lol

There are a lot more of them since that IRS is now standard on all of the mustangs. The IRS we want only came in Cobra mustangs 99-04. And yep, they're too wide for a foxbody but can used in other vehicles. I know of one person putting one in a 70's Mach. He's grafting the entire floorpan out of a S550 into it to make it fit.

I'll second that. Texas is a "little" far for me, though I love road trips.

One of these days I’ll make a trip east, it would be good to see everyone out that way too.

I’ll post pictures of us drinking on Saturday.

I'll bet that's a much cheaper option for a '70 Mach 1 than some of the purpose-build IRS rear suspensions available on the aftermarket.

Okie dokie Nick, John and Jonathan, we're a go for tomorrow.

Got my cash, rotated my tires today, tools are loaded up. I just need to stop by walmart tomorrow early to get the necessary snacks for the road.

I think i'll leave at 4:30 to play it safe. I'm really looking forward to the longer trip in the new truck. This'll be fun and I really look forward to meeting you guys.

All this talk makes me wonder if the S550 IRS wouldn't be a good fit in an '80's-mid-'90's F150. I know of several guys who have used the Lincoln Mark VIII in place of the straight axle to get a better ride when lowering the truck. I'm not into lowered trucks but my '92 sits too high for me, and isn't the best ride either.

Safe travels David!
