My front brakes were making a creaking noise like a door at a haunted house. While stopped or stopping. Guy at Valvoline nailed it when he told me one of my caliper dual pistons was binding. I pulled it apart and one piston was retracted and one was not and my inner pad was worn at an angle. I disassembled the caliper and it had some light corrosion at the top of the bores which I cleaned up with fine sandpaper (600 grit)., Lubed it up with new brake fluid then bled them. Noise has been gone for a month but I'm going to put new front calipers on it soon.

Follow up on the above post on my 2005 V6 Mustang... Calipers continued to drag so I replaced both and have never heard that creaking noise again. I had never bled the brakes and the fluid inside the caliper was nasty - watery and black which likely lead to the corrosion in the piston bores. Now I at least drain each caliper a little when replacing brakes with a simple one man bleeder that I made from watching Chrisfix on YouTube.

You should really be bleeding them every 1-2 years as part of normal maintainance. I do my cars every 2 years and always notice pedal improvement. It also helps flush out water and contaminants that may cause your caliper pistons to begin to rust and seize.

Every car I've owned with ABS bleeds the same. You just REALLY need to make sure the MC never runs dry because getting air into the ABS will give you problems. Just make sure you top off the MC every few strokes of the pedal.
