If you've had your fuel tank replaced, please read...

had mine done...all is well now! Just had my tank replaced, along with the fuel pump/sender, and now I can fill the tank on full blast without a problem. Only "problem" is that it takes a while for the gauge to register the full tank (kind of creeps slowly up) but otherwise it's perfect now.

    05 GT - Stock Flowmasters?

Why would that be so off? So Hurst wasn't a factory option in some cars? I can name a dozen other "aftermarket" merchandisers who have supplied parts to stock cars, from the factory, especially higher performance vehicles. No fooling...really...someone switched the mufflers? I was just saying...

    05 GT - Stock Flowmasters?

...And I'll never know why it was sold with only 4000 miles. I have bought my last 10 cars from the same small niche dealer, and trust them 100% with each car I buy. Anyhow, I know the older model Flowmasters have 2.5" outlet's (according to the Flowmaster website, and the model that is...

If you've had your fuel tank replaced, please read...

Ever look in your rear wheel well? Look at how small that tube is that extends from the filler to the tank. This is the problem. I can't believe it's cheaper for Ford to replace the tank, than replace that tube, enlarging it to solve the vapor displacement issue. From what I see in the TSB...

    05 GT - Stock Flowmasters?

Not black. Flowmaster is stamped on the stainless (I presume) muffler body. And that 42543 code is stamped on the ends. Just never heard of anyone re-welding the stock Ford pipe from the muffler to the axel bend, which is what it looks like, and also using the stock chrome tips. Anyway I...

    05 GT - Stock Flowmasters?

Huh? Always thought my GT was a little … loud … for a production car, GT or not. Didn’t think much of it…Never drove, or was a passanger in, another 05 GT other than mine. No, I didn't look under the rear when I bought it. Assumed as a used car with only 4000 miles it was 100%...

    Mileage problem?

Right. Technology nowadays...just can't count on it. The other thing to note is that the mileage on the computer is calculated for a certain average time period, I think a couple of days or so many miles. It's in the manual somewhere. I.e. if you do a lot of highway driving during the week...

    Mileage problem?

Dumb question, but did you check it the old fashion way of filling it, resetting the trip odo, when its time fill it again, and do the math?

Fold Down Rear Seat in Vert?

I wonder if I can just add the hinges that the hardtop must have. It already has the same rear seats. My Caddy CTS had a hole probably 6" x 6" and it did come in handy. Time to look behind that rear seat! Yep...been putting the roof down every day since I got it! Arizona is a wonderful...

Fold Down Rear Seat in Vert?

So the 2005/2006 hardtop has a fold down rear seat, and my 05 Vert has the same rearseat with the split in it, but it doesn't fold down...so why didn't Ford make the Vert rear seat fold down also? Sure looks like the top fits in that nice sheetmetal compartment in the upper trunk...so yes it...

Gas tank won't take gas, CD player won't play CD's...etc...

Hey...just trying to keep from getting flamed for starting a new thread on an old topic. Regulars are tough on that kind of thing! HA! Besides, old thread to you, but my car is only 2 weeks old car to me! (And who knows...maybe I missed a TSB on a fix from Ford?)

Gas tank won't take gas, CD player won't play CD's...etc...

I've got that gas fill problem, but it really depends on the gas station. I go to 2 stations. I have found 2 pumps that it works just fine. The pumps that have a high flow, and really sensitive shutoff cause the problem. A low flow pump works just fine. I'm sure Ford will come out with a...

    Convertible Roll Bar?

I'd love to see how Mercedes and the others engineer those ones that flip up...it's got to be hinged on just a couple of thick bolts, right? I supposed that hinge connects to the frame somehow? Time to google... Ok here is something interesting I found: "The 94 fatalities attributed to...

    Key Fob window down??????

Mine was built 02/05 according to the sticker on the door and the window-down feature does work using the alarm fob. I bought my GT lightly used, so I don't know what was ordered with it, but I'm guessing I have the active alarm feature. I did notice that it tries to continue to unlock the...

    Convertible Roll Bar?

IMHO: It's a matter of statistics. I don't know what they are, but if the numbers were there either (a) Ford would have made the rollbar, or (b) someone would build a nice one, that doesn't look like it belongs on a race track only. I'd love to see the prototype light bar built as a real...
