yes, 1977. A bit later than 1971 or 2. Perhaps with the 351M/400 going into the '77-79 generation of Tbirds it was tried out?

fox swap oil pan differences ?

Ok, let me ask this again, lol. Anyone have a Canton or Moroso oil pan on a 351C for Fox swaps that can measure the height between the block to oil pan surface to the lowest points on the pan itself?

fox swap oil pan differences ?

351C in particular, but other engines may have the same issue. My car is a 1987 Turbo Coupe with the stock K-member and power steering rack. The engine sits in the stock location without the oil pan for obvious reasons. Not a whole lot of clearance there, and was wondering if any Fox swap...

    small block measurements ?

Thanks. It should be the block's castings that are threaded and the forward holes on each side. Both side's castings should be spaced 7" apart to the back hole. I measured across the front holes, and now today in daylight, I see the driver side is forward more by about an inch. So my...

    small block measurements ?

small block motor mount bosses: the bolt hole's centerline from pass. side to driver side. I got about 14 1/8" but would like to verify if this is correct or not. I didn't have a tram gauge or big caliper, so I may be off. Anyone?

just curious, how many BBF engine swaps?

Interesting, as I just got an email about Heidts requesting a 62-65 Fairlane and 66-67 Fairlane for Mustang II crossmember testing. Are there aftermarket ones already available? I'd really like a 4.6 in my car..."daily driver friendly"

    suspension Q's from a newb

Are there any sites or books that will explain suspension tuning for these cars? IE: lowering springs, bump steer effects from, etc...Or AX racing suspension tuning? I'm looking to lower my '62 Fairlane and since these suspensions are similar to early Stangs, I'm hoping there are some books...

    Fox body auto trans

You'll need a conversion type cable such as one offered by Lokar? to use an AOD behind a carbed 3.8. Fox Tbirds had AOD's behind the 3.8 and 5.0's. I believe the bellpattern is different for the 4 cyl. The newer AOD-E is a better trans and may be worth searching out over the regular AOD...

    Another Rack and Pinion question

Since we're on the subject. RRS :: Classic Vintage Ford Mustang Disc Brake and Coil Over Strut Kit :: Vintage Rack and Pinion :: RRS is another option, though I haven't purchased anything from them yet. I'm considering it for my Meteor, though it is a pricety unit as well. Thought I'd ask if...

    big block in fox

not to mention those Tbirds with the tripowered 390's.:nice: IMO, weight can be overcome by torque, and the 390 certainly has torque. I'd seriously consider SFC's, torque box reinforcements, and the like.

Engine starts (woot), starter making strange noise/having trouble turning it over

Maybe I'm not reading this right, but did the starter work fine after reinstalling the engine, and then it just up and started making this noise? Could be the tooth count on the flywheel is different than what the starter is designed for? Is the flat block plate installed between the engine...

See if anyone can make heads or tales of this?

My 1993 Saturn SC2 does the same thing on hotter days. Highway cruising with full wind pushing into the nose of the car, the temp goes up near the redline ( rpm is up to 3000). Come to a stop, like at a light, and the temp drops back down to normal (rpm drops less than 2000). I've come to the...

    Cracked C4 casing... solution?

I JB welded an aluminum extension housing on a 78 F150 NP203 T-case, and it held just fine. It's a cheap insurance to buy you some time for a proper swap or fix. Good luck.

Agreed. 1969 351W were 1.84 intake. which obviously would be C9OE
